Thanks for the heads up. Vundo is a big pain for most malware scanners, the tools we have at hand are a lot better at removing vundo infections. If you need any help with cleaning the PC, you know where to go.

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. Hello again, Unless you are comparatively knowledgeable about your version of Windows, you can certainly do more harm to your computer's functioning than any small improvements made by registry cleaners warrant. There are safer methods to employ to speed performance, and these usually produce noticeable results. Go to Microsoft's website => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994 Select XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 for your Operating System. Download the file & save it as it's originally named, next to ComboFix.exe. Now close all open windows and programs, then drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts. When the scan is complete, a text file will open - Main.txt Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of Main.txt in your thread in the HijackThis Log Help Forum.
