  3. Be careful, its a non-upgradable key, so you cannot get updates. Also it says: Please note: By confirming your email address and downloading this file, you are signing up to receive periodic followup emails from us. Though you can opt-out. Pierce
  4. If you use the default homepage you support it more than you think. They get 5c for every search. You do 20 a day, your giving them $1.. Pierce

  11. You can change the drive letters however, things can "break" so once set its best to leave well enough alone. I know having the non standard letters all changed is a bit "awkward" but, the sooner you get used to different letters and different setups the better. For instance on this computer, my main drive is D, while C is my storage drive, then theres a H another hdd, and my DVD/CDS/Mounts are E, F and G. If you want label each disk to help you remember, right click -> rename. Pierce
  12. Well for thoes of you who are eagle eye'd, you might notice that i now have a blog link in my signature. 13. dont forget microsoft. they give express editions of all their tools which are pretty much the same as their flagships apart from less gadgets, but are just as good http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/
  14. if you look at the local key i quoted, it does accuratly show the location of where the i386 files are. if you set it to c:\, then all the files MUST be in there. The reason its C:\i386, is would to make it generic so if its 64bit, it would be C:\i686 etc. marty that will work remember the : is very important, i dont know your reasons for ommitting it in your post. 15. JDoors, so, me working at less than minimum wage in a high skilled enviroment (research institute) should fork out $20 a month for somebody just because they signed up to BT? Maybe the Riaa should give everybody a $1 who pirates music. Pierce
  16. drag and drop or from DOS cd d: (cd drive letter) copy i386 c:\ (copy folder to c) c:\ (change back to c drive) cd i386 (change to folder) setup (run windows install i *think* could be different), if you windows is already installed Modify the registry to point to the hard disk copy of the original files. Modify the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion and modify the value SourcePath to the appropriate drive and directory. For example, C:\i386. Pierce

  18. I was clinicly declared profoundly deaf. Thankfully the doctors made the biggest blunder since time became AD. I know how hard it can be to grow up being partially deaf, i cant imagin how hard it is to be fully deaf. I also wish there was some camps like that here in ireland :/ Pierce

  20. i was thinking, quake 3 was os'd into gpl, definatly not doom3's engine which hasnt even started to reap benifits of the engin yet. (oh okay theres a few, but compared to the hl1 engine, which is the benchmark it has a lot of ground to catch) Pierce
  21. they run from 1.99/slot to 2.50 a slot, as an owner of a 100mbit server in dalas texas that could be used to run cs:s, why i should give it away to you for nothing? Pierce
  22. I wish there was, typically its windows that decides which network adaptor does what. On my linksys its interesting when im transfering files, if im uploading, i upload with wired and download with wireless (to another computer on the network) but thats not much good if your downloading... Pierce
  23. http://www.emusic.com/ thats probably the best, non DRM'd music fully legitimate. Which means.. you dont have a massive collection to one day find out you have to-restart because the music you downloaded isnt compat with the new player you want. Pierce
  24. sure why cant it be legit? of course somebody is probably preying on the fears of people by asking them to pay up $19 a year, and the question is what if you are sued? Also, if everybody signed up, they could be facing themselves with a large lawsuit for encouraging copyright infringment. Also carefull it says riaa, so if you mess with the mpaa or any other firm... well dont go looking for money.. Pierce
