Nerelda
hey marty.any changes in the speed of your system?i noticed mine is quite slower with avast. I had the same issue with mine when I tried AVAST, that's why I stick to AVG now
JSKY
hey marty.any changes in the speed of your system?i noticed mine is quite slower with avast. I have noticed no changes to the speed on my PC. But then, even tho I don't do much gaming, I built my system to be able to handle the newer games. That might be why I haven't noticed any slowdown. tenmm
I use Avast it takes about 15-20 minutes to run from my desktop.(full)I trust very few beta's most are incomplete and few are updateable, and very seldom are up to the task.My spare change thought's
ghorjus
marty, thats one fast scan!how big is your HD?
martymas
yes ive just come back to the post.depends on how many applis you are running.remember ive reinstaled xp.so at the moment i have the bare bones.later it will take longer as i install different .applications.before i reinstalled it used to take 32 minutes to scan with avg but twice as long with avast .my hdd is 20 gegs.i also have a ten geg on another compt.and it takes roughly about the same time.i found there is very little difference between avg and avast .with the new avg beta version,it is more simplistic.and i intend to keep it .tho i can always fall back on avast if need be marty
ghorjus
ah yeah...youve just reinstalled xp i forgot.anyway,i havnt used avg so i have no comparison between the two.i was stuck with norton for 3 years.
