hey marty.

any changes in the speed of your system?

i noticed mine is quite slower with avast.

I have noticed no changes to the speed on my PC. But then, even tho I don't do much gaming, I built my system to be able to handle the newer games. That might be why I haven't noticed any slowdown.

yes tho avast was a good av .it was to slow for me it used to take 18mns to do a full scan where as it takes avg7 beta version about 7 minutes.

thats why i uninstalled avast.and tried the new avg7.and i like it

if any one is interested look at my post in regards to avg7

yes ive just come back to the post.

depends on how many applis you are running.remember ive reinstaled xp.

so at the moment i have the bare bones.

later it will take longer as i install different .applications.before i reinstalled it used to take 32 minutes to scan with avg but twice as long with avast .my hdd is 20 gegs.i also have a ten geg on another compt.and it takes roughly about

the same time.i found there is very little difference between avg and avast .

with the new avg beta version,it is more simplistic.and i intend to keep it .tho i can always fall back on avast if need be
