Guest Tony
*Sent: Tuesday, February 07, 2006 6:26 PMSubject: Virus WarningYou should be alert during the next days:Do not open any message with an attached filed called "Invitation"regardless of who sent it .It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which "burns" the whole harddisc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who hasyour e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should sendthis e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25times than to receive the virus and open it.If you receive a mail called "invitation", though sent by a friend, donot open it and shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified byMicrosoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repairyet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where thevital information is kept. thesidekickcat
I think the danger from the emailing and posting on boards about these virus hoaxes is they may desensitize people to the very real dangers of all the real scumware that is out to "get us"!!!I suspected this one as being a hoax just by the title/subtitle of how bad it was. PatGod bless everyone.
Chappy
ANYTHING that says you have to send this to all your friends immediately so they don't get infected, is a HOAX!!!Social Engineering at it's worst, and should NEVER be forwarded on because that's EXACTLY what it's designed to make you do, and by doing so you're only proving that this crap works.... Pete_C
And most of these virus hoax emails are started by spammers who use them to collect the email addresses of those who forward them. After all if you are gullible enough to fall for and believe this you may be interested in all kinds of offers.
