Oni
Heyas,First of all...Lemme tell you my problem.Whenever I play like a simple game, it works fine, but after around 5 minutes it just slowes down. I mean like really really slow. This happens on every game I play, sometimes it passes, other times I have to reboot.So...What can I do to stop it?!? I downloaded two things, RamCleaner + SpeedUpMyPC but they aren't good, and I will be uninstalling them soon.I did an Ad-Aware + Spybot S&D Search, all updated, and I cleaned everything on them.Below is a Hi Jack This Log. I hope I have the newest version, a new one comes out every month Anyway, thanks for your help!!I'm using a Laptop-Dell Latitude D600XP ProffSP 21600MHz 1.60GHz 512 RAM Intel Pentium MThanks... ==============================================Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.0Scan saved at 10:52:22 PM, on 6/8/2005Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)Running processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\carpserv.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\DSentry.exeC:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 5\DirectCD\DirectCD.exeC:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exeC:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\SHSTAT.EXEC:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework\UpdaterUI.exeC:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\bin\jusched.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exeC:\Program Files\CyberLat\CyberLat RAM Cleaner 2,0\CLRamCleaner.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\netdde.exeC:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\Apache.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\Ati2evxx.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\basfipm.exeC:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\Apache.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\cisvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\clipsrv.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\dllhost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\tcpsvcs.exeC:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework\FrameworkService.exeC:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\mcshield.exeC:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\vstskmgr.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exeC:\Program Files\Symantec\Ghost\ngctw32.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\dllhost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\tlntsvr.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\vssvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXEC:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\wbem\wmiapsrv.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\dmadmin.exeC:\HJT2\HijackThis.exeR1 - tictoc5150
a few questions:1) when you say "slows down", how so?...graphically, over-all pc responsiveness, internet speed (if it's an online game)?2) I highly doubt it's a hardware issue but do you clean out the case on a somewhat regular basis and have proper ventilation to rule out heat being an issue?3) all the usual maintenance performed? (defragging, empty temp files and such)The first thing that stands out to me about the log is, that's quite a list of running processes...I count 43 not including HJT...quite a few are not required on startup and I'd start with that...I don't see anything bad in the log (that doesn't mean that there isn't anything...I'm not a HJT expert) so I'd try to have as few things running in the background as you can...Meaning, google all the startup items and try to thin it out a bit by either shutting them off in their options or by using codestuff starter or some other startup manager to shut them down
macmarauder
first of all, you have to regularly feed the hamster or he gets out of shape and tiered. secondly which game does this happen with or is it with every program. yes i agree with tictoc5150 a ton of that list are not needed. i get the feeling that there is something else running too but my digital telepathy just can't see it. Chappy
I'm moving this post to the HijackThis forum where it belongs so the HJT experts will see it.I'll leave a link for it in here as well so you guys can find it.BTW, it's not uncommon to have 30+ processes running with XP, I have 38 myself.
