bozodog
$2.45 today... I feel like I'm getting raped with sand in the vasaline.
bozodog
Shucks, I forgot to tell you all. My Chevy pup pinned the speedometer at 100mph Sunday nite and was still climbing. WeeeHa! (scared the hell outta the Brit and probably wasted too much gas. But what fun!)
Bubba Bob
Shucks, I forgot to tell you all. My Chevy pup pinned the speedometer at 100mph Sunday nite and was still climbing. WeeeHa! (scared the hell outta the Brit and probably wasted too much gas. But what fun!)<{POST_SNAPBACK}>A Chevy going 100? Down a LONG hill right? Gas prices went up $0.30 in two days here. Everyone is getting gas before Dennis the Menace hits us... BTW, if im not around for a few days, itll be because my power is out.
blim
Cough, choke, gasp.....$2.50gal for regular. Catching up to you, RV. WhoooHooo, Bozodog, way to go!!!Bubbabob, you be safe down there and make sure to let us know how you're doing if you get a chance. Car shopped again today (my head hurts) Found another low mileage Cavalier, a Grand Am and a couple of 1998 Geo Metros--anyone know anything about GeoMetros? Cute little cars with only 75000 miles on them and look easy to drive, but I wonder how long they'll last.Liz

Bubba Bob
All I can tell you about the Metros is when you wear one out you drop it in your trash compactor and set it on the corner for pickup. And for the Cavalier, DONT. I dont think ive seen a Chevy that was less dependable. Oh, wait, i forgot about the S10...if your looking for a compact, Blim, try a Ford Escort or Focus. My 95 Escort has over 135K miles and still goin strong. (only one breakdown since i bought it) Great for a car that i bought used and paid very little $$ for. But, that's just my biased opinion. Also, look up MSN Autos for vehicle reviews and specs.Good luck
bozodog
A Chevy going 100? Down a LONG hill right? You bet Bubba Bob, a '94 GMC safari at that! With 190K on the odometer. And I think it must be a bit uphill, because we were eastbound from lake Michigan, inland. But then I wouldn't knock Fords... My dad was a test driver for Ford and he always said don't bite the hand that feeds you. So I drove Fords for many years. Switched to Chevys in the 70's bacause they looked better. Drove the wheels off a Toyota over 200K, and have had two dodge minivans. Being an owner of a 120 pound, 38" tall, Great Dane, I have to have a van. She just don't fit in anything else. (she hated my Toyota, and refused to ride in it after the first day of errands)BTW Blim, the Geo is very much like a Toyota Tercell. They share many of the same parts. blim
Bozodog, reading your post about your bigdog, when my "knee high" dog wanted to check out Hubby's "new-to-him" truck, she looked inside, literally shook her head, sighed, and walked back to sniffing the tire. She wasn't about to jump that far for a ride! I like the fact that Metros are "toyotabased", my folks swear by "ty-otas". The Toyotas and Hondas are soooo expensive here (closest dealership is in GR, an hour+ away) --priced out of range for Son, but at least its comforting knowing he's looking at something "close"Bubbabob, that link is fun! I have Dell/MSN for my homepage and never played around with that link, thank you for bringing that to my attention!! The "free carfax" (which isn't really free, they charge for the "full report") is interesting--scored 11 "hits" on one of the cars we were looking at (have to pay to find out what the "hits" were...), but comparing the BrokenSaturn Son is replacing, that one only had 3 "hits", so it's a good comparison tool, I think anyways. There wasn't a Ford Escort or Focus anywhere we looked, I did hear they were good cars, must be too good--apparently folks aren't getting rid of them.Tenmm, reading your post, a Metro just might be perfect for Son, he already got 2 speeding tickets with the Saturn, so I don't want him driving a fast "sporty looking" car Yeah, what a mean mommy I am!! And he is only looking for 2-3 years out of it, and in MI, AC isn't important. We're going back out tomorrow, we'll see what we find, but thanks so much for the suggestions and keep them coming!!!Liz
tenmm
1954 ford anglia one of these was my first car,I know them to be tough and ready to roll and they got good milage.
robroy
My first car was a Ford Anglia too, but 61 model, it's also the first car I ever put another motor in.
tenmm
I did not have to replace the motor, but I did need to replace the head after it cracked. That ford had a 4 banger with a 3spd transmission am radio and 260AC.
bozodog
You can see just how big Gypsy really is in this pic... Olivia is 5 years old.
blim
Wow, Gypsy is one big girl!!! We have a Great Dane in our neighborhood and my dog, who barks at all dogs walking past, will not bark at him--she runs and gets me to look out the window. She's not sure if the "creature" is a dog or not And Olivia's a cutie!! Of course she's 5, she's wearing pink the official color at that age!!Liz
Bubba Bob
Oh!!! At first I thought the "great dane" you referred to was your wife. (i didnt look at the height closely) Nice pup. How old is she now?
bozodog
She's almost 5 going on puppy... still acts like one. Heh heh, Bubba. I have a hubby, and yes it was me doing better than 100mph. The Brit, (Pipex) left depressions in the armrests, but denies it. Gypsy likes going fast. She plants her butt on the back seat and her head is at my shoulder, ever ready to plant a big wet kiss when she's having fun..
tenmm
OK I give.... Where is the ladder hooked at??That nice lookin lady needs a ride.
robroy
Bozo has a leadfoot, must come from driving that delivery truck all week Gas prices here dropped by a dime today $2.30 Try not to scare Pipex too much, you haven't been married long enough to give him a heart attack Also watch out for They got DW driving
bozodog
Yeah Robroy, it definitely is the express mode syndrom. But then I always did love to go fast. And I don't do it often. The p0lice were a concern but there wasn't any traffic at all that nite.(Brit had pleanty of adult beverage on-board so he felt no stress) Blim, I don't blame your little doggy for that.. He probably wants to make friends with it so he didn't have to bark at the rest.
bozodog
$2.39 here today... They said the national average is $2.33 and that's a record.
macmarauder
well it's been $2.19 for several days now. maybe i should ask to be paid in barrels of oil instead.

macmarauder
AH HAAA. good news folks, i just saved a bunch on money on my car insurance by switching to geiko (static noise) ahhhh there we go my little car gas groupies. i just installed a commercialization noise filter. sorry i left the window open cause it's so hot here and some of the money grubbing noise got in. i tried smacking it to death with my shoes but it just wouldn't die. well gas here went to $2.29 gal. ouch!! this reminds me about one of the many scripts of george carlins about the sticking the corporate d*ck in a little deeper. well i'm running 3" exhaust on the bronco and i'm running out of room for that d*ck. B)anyways mellow out a little with my buddy jimmy and his purple sky. it's jimmy hendrix next.
