  1. To chinawht:

    :D Hello! :D

yeah since I have the anime con coming up I had to get extra work done so I can go.

Found a little something on the Highway today, and then it followed me home. I asked the GF if I could keep but alas NO.

  2. the Broncos could always use another QB. we're on that 1 year rotation thing anyways. :D

Man it feels like we have a QB every year, oh that's right, we do. It's like little league, everyone gets a turn.  <_<

Plummer looked pretty good against the Chiefs! It helps that the Broncs have the best offensive line in football, you can have anybody with a pulse run for 150 yds. with holes like that. Who needs Clinton Portis?

Very true. But it's been kinda painful to watch them win games against the best teams and fall apart against some of the worst. Although that's just a Bronco thing anyways. Besides considering the coaches ability for finding 100 yards + running backs we will have a good running game.

  3. Yes thanks tg1911 for the heads up. :D 30 points for you.

Yeah I know that it is kinda obvious to us but still people still get scammed by the "Arabian Prince that has too much money and he needs to give you some, all you need to do is provide your account # and every thing I need to steal your money**** I mean your info so that I can send you the money :D ..... yea that's it. " :(

  4. JSKY, I love your picture.

Sure looks like he is ready to play.  Haha

Actually maybe some team could use him.

  5. I know not of what you speak. G4? Boards?

Seriously I gave up on them a long time ago but a couple of friends of mine that still go there regularly have kept me apprized of the G4 boards and it's gotten pretty bad over there. I don't know you guys all that well yet but just so you know one of the reasons is that there really is a group of people that go there just to cause trouble in an attemp to dirupt the G4 community. I had a bad run in with them before and it truly saddens me that they are accomplishing what they want. :( So my heart goes out to you guys that still go there.

As far as these boards go. I like how things are moving alone.

I think it's the great company on here. I thought that some of us were reluctant to post in TSS threa for fear that were would have the same ridicul problems. It's really nice to know that we are safe here and for one will do everything I can to help.

  6. Uh Oh a Football thread! :P This could get interesting. <_<^_^

I was a Bronco Fan in Albuquerque, I was a Bronco Fan in Ohio, I was a Bronco Fan in New York, I'm a Bronco Fan everywhere. :D

The first game I ever went to was John Elways first game as QB for the Broncos and I haven't stopped being Blue and Orange since. B)

  7. Alright I moved my whole computer setup next to the front window. Ordered pizza, rerouted some plumming with a little carpentry work on the recliner. Sent GF lots of folwers and a card that said that the computer meant nothing to me, it was a moment of weakness. Called Apple and told them I'd come back to work as a consultant but I would have to work online only.

OK I think that covers it all. Did I forget anything? :D

  8. Yeah I felt the same way when Leo left. i've been watching on and off now. and again when Pat left.

More than anything else it's like the show has no personality and i want to shout out "where has all the tech gone?" They don't go into as much detail as they used to. Now everything on the show feels more like a commercial for products. I personally liked it when they went into some detail about how certain tech worked instead of saying "wow these are really great speakers." I know they didn't do it much but I think it helped the feel of the show. Now everything is a little snipet like they are trying to cram in as mush as they can.

  9. The dangerous addiction of SPS. Every day several inocent and unknowing posters become victim to SPS Starving Poster Syndrome. They become so addicted to posting in online forums and instant messaging that they never leave their seats to eat. Their body filled with only mountain dew and cheesy puffs they become delusional and heavily infected with SPS. Once someone is infected they spread the disease by posting about food products.

Here is some posts from an infected member who unfortunately ran out of his reachable food supply.

30 minutes now. feeling soo weak. i have spotted some fallen cheesy puffs behind the desk. will attempt to capture with my toes.....

    attempt failed.....

LOL i found lots ABC gum under desk. flavor is still there.

hour 3 ----- feeling weak again. have spotted bag of left over holloween candy from last year aproximatly 10ft away. i will embark on a level 12 quest for this treasure.....

quest failed due to a chair blockade and shortness of keyboard cord.

hour 6 ---- moral is high. parental unit sky dropped supplies. PB sandwiches and milk.

hour 10 ---- internet aliens have taken my mouse hostage and demand that my room be cleaned. attempts to click have failed. all further clicking operations will be on hold indefinantly.

It's too late for this individual. By the time he finally got away from the computer and found a source of nourishment he had forgotten how to eat and attempted to place butter in the CD Drive.

Another individual after being infected with this disease drug his fridge to his desk and gorged himself. after seeing a shocked kitty pic and a reference to ninja burger he laughed and chocked on a 1lb block of cheese.

This has been a public post announcement paid for by The Happy Cheese Block Corporation.

  11. This is my first mac, I found it very entertaining that I could crash it by a push of a button....

Yah one of the problems with swithching to a totally new OS and a lack of support for 8 year old computers.

How much should I be spending if I buy OSX Panther 10.3

I suggest eBay, they are selling for around $50 +

Oh, one other crazy question, If I buy a CDRW/DVD drive for this mac, can I just buy one that is good for all computers.... or does it have to be specifically for a mac? I was thinking about buying this one:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5122053955&rd=1

Would it work? In only says windows OSs.

Yes you do need to find one that says it's Mac compatable. I'd suggest looking on eBay in the Mac section or I use a company called LG. They usually have some pretty good prices and I like their quality for Mac stuff.

    LG Products

Your welcome for the help. Any time. :D

  12. I watched about 20 - 30 minutes of two shows. the "kid" interviewing Mike Mignola (creator of the "Hellboy) seemed kinda off balance, there was no "flow" in the interview.

    just first impression.

    M

Your right, except I kinda think there was no flow to the whole show. Also this new co host just seems a little too goofy and not knowledgeable enough. Maybe it's just me or I just need to wram up to the new guy. Cause I really liked the episode with martin co hosting just before they went to LA.

For now I'll keep watching and hope for the best. :D

  13. RAM RAM RAM

Most people don't realize it but Macs are memory based systems. PCs are processor based. So put extra RAM in your mac and yes quality does make a big difference in performance. Increasing the RAM can even increase overall performance.

Here's a good place for some cheap but still good quality RAMBarracuda's

    Crucial Ram .com

The transfer rate through the current cables and busses are far faster than than the current Hard Drives. So trust me a good fast HD is more preferable for performance that a big one. I tend to use 9,000 RPM Barracuda's or 10,000 RPM Raptor drives myself.

OS X is basically Unix with an Apple GUI on it. What that means is that Unix is a server based OS and it runs it's maintenance scripts in the middle of the night. So leaving your computer on over night isn't a bad idea. Remember the fewer times you boot your computer the better anyway. Normally if this is not an option than there are programs that will allow you to run such scripts when you want. Unfortunately have not found one that I like so sorry but no recommendations from me.

The memory management of OS X is extremely good. So instead of starting a program several times a day just leave it open and hide it. It gives you the option in the dock or you can hit Command H.

Well those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head right now. Happy Macing. :D

  14. I'm gonna let macmarauder run with this, because he sounds like he knows more about this area than I do for sure!

Naa. I just happen to have G3 processor for a brain and I'm always rebooting the darn thing. So I picked up a trick or two. That and I did stay at a Holiday Inn a year ago. :D

Yep after sleeping on it what you need my friend is a Install CD for OS X. Even if you booted off of a floppy you still can't repair the Kernel. Well you can but it would involve far too much time, effort, and some very tricky stuff. Because what happened was that the firmware in the MOBO tried to run a script that is usually apart of OS 9 but since OS X that was that part is gone and supposedly disabled when OS X installed those extra files that it needed to run. This might have been done before you got to the computer but on a computer that has OS X on it. When you put OS 9 on there or you already had OS 9 and you are putting OS X on, when you first run Classic mode it tells you that it needs to install some files it needs in order to run classic. Well those files normally disable some things such as that firmware code. But if your not running classic on some computers this will happen or with some non stack apple processors this will happen. I don't know why it would do it with non apple processors though. It's only on cretin G3.

    OK here's my recommendations:

You need to go get a copy of of and OS X install CDs. Preferably Panther. Boot under the CD and first try repairing the Disc Permissions. I know it's a little bit of a long shot but I do remember something about it also reseting part of the Kernel. If that doesn't work do a reinstall of OS X. You are given the option to only install the OS and not over write your saved files. That way you keep your data and replace the current Kernel. Sorry I don't have a quickie fix for this one.

    Here's a little tip:

Remember when they said that OS X Panther was optimized for the G5. In Jaguar they also optimized it for the G4. A G4 400mhz for example and lets the best stock G3 you can get, a G3 500mhz. I pick those because they are almost the same computer but with different processors. The G4 has a little bit of an advantage but less processor speed to even it out. Under Panther my G400 I've been getting about a 12% better performance on average than my G3500. They both have 100mhz bus, the same video card, I bought the same ram for both, I even put the same HD in both. The only reason that I even bother with G3's anymore is that I happen to have a very special one that I built with some very special Processors.

I'll put some tips in the Mac tip section for ya. Sorry for all the reading.

  15. One question. Is anyone here going to the Nan Desu Kan anime convention in Aurora Colorado next weekend?

I'm pretty hiped for it. Ya I know why oh why do I go to these things? See some new animes of course. hangout with friends in a hotel playing games until 5 in the morning. Then getting up at 8'O clock and doing it all again.

Besides it's one of those rare times I go out in day light. B)

  16. What version OS X do you have? When you try to boot how far do you get before the message comes up? Hmmm is it a black screen with white text? What model G3 is it? A B&W or a beige and what model # ?

Ahh Haa I think I know what it is. I think the button that you hit is the very little one that was originally meant to bring up the mac command line. Which would normally called up by the firmware in the MOBO. Yes old macs do have a very simple hidden command line. It was only used by testers and programmers with too much time on their hands. Since you are now running a version of OS X the OS X Kernel it is getting conflicting messages. Your probably running Jaguar. It had problems with most of theses buttons.

Hmmm (scratches head and then strokes chin) seriously exactly how far does it boot before you get the error message? I'll assume that you don't have an OS X boot disc since you didn't say that you haven't tried to use it. If you do boot off the disc and try repairing the disc permissions. Just let me know if you do not know how to do this.

  17. I'm doing very good on my recovery and I hope I will be back to 100% with in the next few months...

I will have a while to do theropy to get my arm and leg back to normal...

    Thanks again everyone....

If there is anything I can do for any of you's just ask....

    Tyme

With regards to your recovery, just remember, keep pushing. Push as much as you can stand. When it gets bad, and you think you can't go anymore, go a little bit more. Only you know what your body can, and can't, take.

After I broke my pelvis in 5 places, shattered my left femur, damaged my bottom 3 vertebra, and had severe nerve damage; the doctor told me I was paralyzed, and would never walk again. HA! Three months after the hardware was removed, with therapy, I was able to walk using a cane. That was in 2002. Now I don't use a cane, or pain medication, anymore.

It's truly amazing what the mind, and body, can do when you push it. Don't quit! My best wishes go out to you for a speedy, and full recovery.

    Good luck.

That's absolutly right. Never ever give up and keep pushing to get better. Personally I barley listen to doctors anymore. When it comes down to it, after the meds, the equipment, ect. It's up to you to recover. Good job everyone. keep on keeping on.
