    Joke

Hey marty, I'm locking this thread as it is very much a political post. As you know we voted not to have political posts. This post may anger some Republican members here. Thanks for your understanding. hitest
  2. I'm not certified in anything, but am certifiable, heh-heh. Just self taught here. That sounds very cool, mikex!
  3. Heh-heh, funny stuff, marty:-)

Hey JSKY, old friend:-) It is 55 degrees up here north of the border. It has been a bit foggy in the morning and sunny, warm in the afternoon. Our rainy season hasn't started............yet. I hope you can avoid the snow for a little longer.
  7. Welcome to besttechie.net, Wirelesspacket:-)
  8. Funny stuff, marty:-) I like the airport security officer.
  9. That window manager looks cool, jcl! I'm really liking xfce 4.4.1 on my FreeBSD box:-)
  10. You're welcome, Marty!
  11. Once you download thunderbird using adept you need to mark it for installation in adept then click apply or okay then tbird should show up in the appropriate menu. If not, then use a terminal prompt and type whereis thunderbird to find it. Yes, kmail uses smtp. As I said before Marty you need to set-up your incoming and outgoing mail servers in kmail. Look for therm in configure kmail. Read the help section in kmail if you get stuck Marty:-)
  12. First launch Kmail which will be in your Internet menu, at that point it may prompt you to enter all of your e-mail server settings. If not then to set-up Kmail you go Settings------>Configure Kmail. In that window you will put in your identity and your incoming mail server settings and your outgoing mail server settings. I just set-up kmail on my freebsd box and it works okay although it can be a PITA to set-up sometimes. You should be able to install thunderbird or evolution in Kubuntu if you can't get kmail working.
  13. Come on folks, log-in, fun stuff:-) I'm there.
  14. Cool. HP will sell Linux pre-loaded computers down under in Australia. http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS2655594862.html
  15. In Kubuntu using KDE the default should be Kmail which should be in the Internet section of your menu. But you can install any e-mail client you want Marty. Just start-up Adept ( the Kubuntu version of Synaptic) and search for thunderbird or another e-mail client.
  16. Glad you got it solved, kingdutch:-) Welcome to besttechie.net!
