  1. Will appreciate anyone's time.

    I have a friend who used to be able to log in to her company's website with a password and username but cannot now.

    I came home and was able to get it on my computer, so I know it should work for her.

    She is still using Windows 98, but I feel like it is probably something in the advanced options of Internet Explorer that is checked or not checked. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks! nancy

  2. Does anyone know if using Musicmatch would cause any problems with WMP10?

    The only thing I want to use Musicmatch for is to record some XM radio programs

    through my line in/mic. I downloaded the free version, but it doesn't record line in,

    so before I buy the Plus for $20, I thought I'd check with the board.

    Thanks for anyone's time.

  3. Two additional updates have been released this month that affect Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

    ~~~~~
    Really appreciate your time, Besttechie -- I figured this, but it was the first time I got an update without seeing mention of it in tech news sources.* Thanks so much! n
    *All did appear in Wednesday's news though, so I guess I rushed into worrying!
  4. Bubba Bob -- just wanted to tell you that you were exactly right --
    WMP was the place to delete from the player.
    You go to the sync menu...then all of the player's present files
    show up in the right column...you can right click on any of them,
    and it gives you the option to delete from the player.
    I'm mainly giving this info for anyone else out there who might
    find it useful....but there may not be anyone else out there who
    would have trouble figuring this out!
    Thanks again for your time!
    Fubz -- I don't think my player has that same function that yours
    does but sure appreciate your mention of it.
  5. If fubz is out there...or anyone else who might know...
    Haven't put anything on my iriver yet, but in looking through the manual,
    I can't find anything about how to delete a particular recording -- like an
    interview after I've listened to it.
    I have read in reviews that the iriver doesn't let you do this without being
    connected to the computer, but I'm wondering if I would just go through
    My Computer...open the drive...and then delete like you would any file?
    ...or if it is done through Windows Media Player?
    Will appreciate anyone's time. nancy
  6. Fubz,
    Thanks so much for your time and for answering in such a clear way. I need that!
    I feel confident now about the update. You have really helped me out!
    isteve, I appreciate your input too...guess we were both wrong about the Finish part
    ...but I guess Iriver meant what it said concerning the sequence!!
  7. fubz! -- I am really excited and appreciate your responding!
    This is my first mp3 player, so I'm not wanting to just guess when the directions aren't clear to me...am afraid of chosing wrong and causing a problem. So...I am looking forward to your input and hope you have time.
    I know I need to update because there was a notice on the packaging.
    I looked at the website directions at
    http://www.iriveramerica.com/support/mtpupdate/, and have three questions:
    1. On #6 in the directions, do I ...
    ...click Finish...and then disconnect the iriver H10,
    or
    ...disconnect the iriver before clicking Finish?
    [my guess would be to click finish and then disconnect, but the directions
    look opposite of that.]
    2. Also on #6, it says in yellow that my device will reboot several times. How will I know when that happens ...and ...when it is finished? I'm thinking it should happen when it is still connected but the directions mention that AFTER they say to disconnect.
    3. I am really confused on this last one. I would think I was then finished with everything, but they show where I should click Recovery and all the data on my device will be deleted.
    Am I supposed to click on the Recovery button after the update finishes? I am confused because I wouldn't think I would want to do something that would delete everything!!!
    Thanks again...I know these are a lot of questions. nancy
  8. Thank you all for taking your time on this topic. I am sold...and am downloading updates now.
    I'm sure it was irritating to read that I was even considering the advice, but after what I just went through with the computer I am replacing [after doing all of the right things constantly...Internet Security;3 spyware programs; always updated; no downloading habits of music or anything else], hopefully you would at least semi-understand.
    Thanks again! n
  9. Am having to re-install all programs on a new computer.
    I am running Norton Internet Security and wanted to check if it is still important to disable the Norton Anti Virus 2005 during actual installations... as it was with earlier versions of Norton.
    If so, I assume this is also true when installing Windows updates?
    Will appreciate your time very much. n
  10. Finally, I have had the chance to join Besttechie and already have a question:
    For years, I have followed the advice of so many of you as well as all of the news authorities and absolutely continued to keep updated with critical updates.
    Yesterday the computer guy [who has done everything to my computers [building them...adding to them...replacing things, etc.] that I have been associated with and trusted since 1992 told me that he believed in having SP2 but he did not believe in getting the critical updates.
    Is there anything new that has happened that I don't understand or am not aware of? I can't imagine him saying this....the explanation was that this is where hackers would choose to hack because it is the most trusted site and Norton allows it's downloads, etc., etc.[i have 2005 Int Security].
    Please do not be offended that I would even listen to this advice, but I want to make sure there is not something I have missed. I've had to buy a new computer and want to do everything right, as usual.
    Thanks so much to anyone who has time to comment. N
