Does anyone know what the At&T Yahoo browser is?
I have a friend who uses this because of her internet provider,
sbcglobal, and McAfee's SiteAdvisor won't work on it.
Site Advisor downloaded fine and works on her IE but wouldn't
on this browser she normally uses. I didn't know it existed.
Thanks for anyone's input.

Thanks for reading this!
2 part question:
1. A friend of mine is going on a trip and
wants to be in touch with us via email.
She plans to use a library computer.
Is this safe as long as she clears her IE history
after she closes her e-mail provider site?
~~~~~~~~~
2. If it's safe that way, and if I give her IE6 directions
to clear the history, can she follow those directions
if the library is using IE7?
I've heard there is no menu bar in IE7 by default,
so she might not see "Tools"?
[tools...internet options...clear history]
I will really appreciate anyone's help!
I know it probably seems crazy that I ask this question every time,
but I feel so much better after I hear the go ahead from you all.
Thank you very, very much for your time!
Is everyone okay with Tuesday's Windows updates?
Will appreciate the input..
Brian - thanks so much for taking time to give such a thorough answer.
I should have been more clear. This friend of mine already has IE7
--the auto updates downloaded it. She did not know to save the favorites.
I will certainly do this before I get IE7 though. Thanks again! nancy
I have not yet downloaded IE7, but an out-of-town friend of
mine has and she said her favorites are gone. Is this possible?
I can't imagine them not being transferred, so I'm wondering
if anyone knows where I can have her look.
Thanks so much for your time!
Just wanted Liz to know that I received her assistance
and appreciate the extra trouble she went to. I sent her
a PM and didn't hear back so thought I should go ahead
and post here.
Appreciate Matt's post too! Thanks so much!
Appreciate the input.
[Am so sorry about your bad luck, Terrorist]
May need to start a new thread about WMP 11.
I've been hesitant because WMP has been so great --hate to change.
I have yet to download them. Let you know in a short. I have heard of problems with an update and XP Office.
Terrorist, I heard somewhere about someone having problems with their printer
[and maybe something else] since these updates.
Don't know any details or who the person was...or how
accurate the info was, but it made me more concerned than usual. Thanks!
Was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the
Microsoft XP updates released this past Tues, Dec 12?
I have 5 [not including IE7, which I am temporarily ignoring!]
Thanks for anyone's time!
Thank you all so much. I am going to compose a note to her
today. Really appreciate all of the input...and was also good to
learn something new. nancy
Terrorist...thanks for giving me a laugh about your aunts
[even though it's not funny]
I would tell your friend to return the product and demand the money back. Have her print out the information below to bring with her. Tell her to stop doing business with that individual.
Thank you all so much for helping out. Terrorist, as always,
I can't thank you enough for taking time to check this out
for me. I am now torn --not knowing whether or not she will
be offended that I am not positive about this tech guy she
seems to like. My guess is that he is getting some kind of
kick back or would never ever have suggested this.
She is a senior citizen like me...just not as aware of things, so
is, I'm sure, easy to take advantage of.
I need to figure out a way to tell her and will! Appreciate the link
--that will help in my endeavor!!!
Thanks again,
nancy
Appreciate the input, Mark.
I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of
an anti-virus program and/or security suite called
stopsign. A tech repair guy sold a friend of mine
a lifetime support of this company for $99 ...all
for support on 3 computers too.
She is in another town, had a virus, and I suggested
to her all of the obvious security programs, but her
tech guy talked her into this. He told her it had won
awards from pcworld, so I thought maybe I was just
behind on the latest and greatest.
After going to pcworld and finding nothing on it,
I am worried that she was talked into something
not so reliable.
Sure would appreciate anyone's comment on this!
Thanks, Terrorist. Good point.
Talked to her ISP, and they assurred me that they didn't block messages.
I was able to go her server, though, and found that for some reason the
messages never got there. At least I know for sure it's not her
computer because I was really stumped.
Thanks to you both!
-
Pat - I really appreciate your time. I believe I can
check her server. Never thought about that....may
be the key too!! At least I'll know which end stops it!
I've decided just to see if any of you have any ideas on this.
A friend of my mother tries to send her Jacqui Lawson electronic greeting cards,
but my mother never receives them.
The friend sends them to me occasionally also, but I receive them just fine.
I have checked my mother's computer for blocked messages and
they are not being blocked. [she uses Outlook Express].
I have always had her Norton anti spam feature completely off
and have double checked that it still is. She has a firewall, but so do I,
so I don't think that would be stopping a greeting card email.
Sure would appreciate any suggestions.
thanks Curling Steve....
....but now I'm dreading IE7 even more!!!!
Terrorist -- thanks so much! I too am waiting on IE7
but appreciate go-ahead on others!
Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the
latest XP updates that begin with KB922760, KB927978, etc?
I was surprised when they arrived....seems like the end of last week.
Sure will appreciate your time! nancy
Terrorist - just happened to check back on this.
Thanks very much!
