    ... ... adjudicate............ word came to mind because 1) it's and 'ad' word and 2) it reminded me of the dreaded adjudication: when chess matches would run too long in H.S. competition (being adjourned); the result(s) (of to whom a game win or loss would be awarded) might tilt the match's favor to the opposing team hinged upon other than the two combatants (who were usually more inept than the judge(s) might invariably be.

    usgs.gov only listed the quake as a 5.6 in my email alert. Up here in the Sierra foothills. a two hour drive N.E. away from the epicenter, nothing was felt. One of my sister-in-laws lives between San Jose and Oakland, CA. Said she 'heard' the quake as well as felt it... no damage at all. My concern is for the Hayward fault further north of the incident (think Oakland, California) now getting more stress from the release down in the Milpitas/San Jose area. The Oakland area has been 'waiting' for the big one from the Hayward fault; as has San Francisco from the San Andreas fault. Thank
