  1. I should have mentioned as well that when you have a system like my old one here, it can make a world of a difference with programs and your PC's performance. For reference issues, here's the specs on this old comp:

    HP Pavilion 7845

    Windows XP Pro

Intel Pentium III, 868 MHz processor

    256 MB PC133 RAM

    80GB Western Digital HD

(yes, that means I upgraded the RAM, OS and HD)

  2. It's probably a regional server in your area. Ours are in Chicago and sometimes we get slow downs that only effect this area.......Not sure if that's your problem or not but it usually goes away here in a few days or so.......

*runs over to the servers and bangs the living *^%* out of them......it's been a week!

oh well....not like yahoo is important, right? LOL

  3. hehe! :) I'm just really happy that I'm finally getting a computer that will fit my needs. Every computer I've had has been an old crummy hand-me-down, so it's good that I got this one.

The boyfriend is probably coming over this Friday, so that's when we'll work on putting it together. He'll also be bringing my new video card that I haven't seen or know the exact model of yet. :)

  4. Ok people, please read carefully this time.....It is not my computer or my ISP. I get these same lag problems on ANY computer in ANY location. (meaning, at home, the library, the college, and a friend's house) All different types of computers and different ISP's.

The lag does not occur all the time, but has been most of the time when trying to get into my mail.

I guess it's probably the server that my email account resides on, but I was wondering if anyone else had the problem as well.

  5. Ok, has anyone else noticed that Yahoo Mail has been having a lot more trouble loading lately than usual? No matter what connection speed, browser, browser version, or location.....It's loading slower than ever! I've even been getting more "browser time-outs" than ever before!

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    Any idea what's going on?

(I know it's not my browser or computer since I have had this same problem with other browsers and other computers and locations.)

  6. I've had both Avast and AVG.....Avast was good, but slowed my bootup tremendously (you know today we want everything faster)....could have been something else....but anyway...the spinning icon in the sytem tray is distracting too...Switched to AVG....hardly know it is running....That's my non technical view...Really don't know if one outperforms the other.... B)

I have to agree with you there. I personally prefer AVG as well. I've tried both AVG and AVAST, but I found AVAST to use too much of my system resources for my liking, so I use AVG instead.

:D:lol:AVG 6 End of Life: Support WindDown :D:lol::P "Snort, snort, snort". :P:P

That's only for the PAID version. They are still supporting the FREE version.

    :D:rolleyes::D:rolleyes::D:rolleyes::D;)
