alright i messed up the bootloader when i reinstalled winodws on the first drive. well i installed linux over it to access my second hard drive to access it's files. well since it knew there was an install of linux on that drive it won't access it. someone once told me how to open up the drive but i forgot. if someone could tell me i'd much appreciate it. sounds like when my internet security runs out here within 4-6 months i'll drop it for AVG free and Windows firewall. I have a router to back it up. Or i could just try this loop hole i might have figured out to get Norton IS 03 for free. but more than likely i'll try LEGAL free AV's firewalls. I'll miss the add blocking and some of the other things.

i had an instance once on my old computer where one drive stopped being recognized but on that same cable if I switched hookups on the cable the other CD drive wasn't noticed but the other was being recognized again. new cable fixed it. i would try a new cable. make sure all connections are properly fixed in place.

I keep getting a message that after getting kicked from a server after the newest patch was released. It says this server only allows players with unmodified content. I haven't modified anything unless you count me removing the videos to speed up loading. i replaced the files after getting this error message but it keeps giving me this message. am i gonna have to reinstall? someone is gonna have to give me a tutorial on installing this and any other programs for that matter. i can't for the life of me figure out the install instructions.

ok everytime i set a something like WPA-PSK or WEP, it won't activate. i click apply changes and go back to the routers homepage and it still says security is disabled. Why won't it work?

thanks man i'll try that once i set the linux box back up. i don't have a wireless network card yet so i have both systems side by side and no KVM switch.

i've always heard ubuntu was the best for beginners but I started with Fedora Core 4 and it has dang good hardware support. irecently figured out how to get it online today but that was hard wired. have you ever tried going onto ralink's website for the linux drivers. here's the link to their drivers. I tried AVG but i only see a windows installer. Could someone point me in the right direction. If it helps it's Fedora Core 4 running KDE 3.4.

i've got it all figured out now. i've got a router now and i was able access it but nothing on the internet. well i figured out the DNS and the router's IP and used it as the host and BAM i'm on the internet. In fact i'm typing this on my linux box right now. SWEET. Thanks for the help. guess i couldn't access without the router. i had no idea what to put in as the DNS or host.

Just snagged a deal at officemax. bro was there for a jump drive and spotted the router said 40 bucks he called me i ran out there it rung up 35 though heck of a deal considering belkin's price was 89.99. anyways, i want to keep people from accessing my router. I don't think the people in this area would ever do that cause say only 5% of people out here have enough knowledge to do it but still. My routers properties page has 4 options for encryption. WPA-PSK, 128bit WEP, 64bit WEP, WPA. what should i use if any. I've tried to set it as WPA-PSK but when i click apply changes it doesn't do anyt

here is something you should do before posting here about internet problems. CALL YOUR ISP. they could be having problems. if not half the time they'll come out to your house an fix it for free. they've been to our house MANY times and at no extra charge. THe reason why they do that, cause if they piss someone off no more client.

in games you must set the sound to 5.1. my audigy2 zs has upmixing to change stereo to 5.1 too. it's great for music. some games like call of duty to activate 5.1 you have to change from miles fast 2D audio to EAX 1-4 or however many there are. always make sure that EAX is deactivated in windows before starting a game.

it's an iMac G4 with 1GHz G4 CPU, 256MB PC2700 RAM, nVidia GeForce4 MX420 with 32MB SDRAM, 15" attached LCD, and whatever mac used for audio. I've tried finding wireless in it and nope it ain't got it. Would this one be compatible. ABS USB Wireless Adapter Here's a pic of it just in case.

i'm with torin. no need in overclocking. you have enough power. hell my athlon XP 3000+ has plenty of power. It just overheats very badly (if i ever sell my dang 85 sunbird i'll buy a 3200+ and a zalman HSF). And torin one of the best things about havin a sound card no matter how good it is, when you are playin games like I am all the time a card will take care of all the audio instead of your cpu. i'd play bf1942 with the onboard and everytime there was an explosion the game lagged.... in SINGLEPLAYER. i took out my old live! to test something thats why i was useing onboard. i like my audigy

cool but he ain't got 90 bucks to spend on it and he doesn't know how long he will be livin with us could be a few weeks or few months. the old g4 iMacs with the round dome bottom and the flat panel screen coming out of the dome don't have built wireless right cause this would just suck if we bought an adapter and it had it built in.

my homecoming dance ain't till next friday but i ain't goin cause last year too many people from other schools came. This year you have to have your ID badge and girlfriend is from the other school across town. No biggy though. ain't been to a dance yet and it's my senior year.

I have the same speakers but unfortuneately they are all in front too but i have the rear ones real wide set and angled. i used to have my old Z-640's rear speakers mounted on the back of my chair before they died I can't do that (parents won't let me anyway they hated me havin em on the chair) with my X-530's. They don't have the forked metal stnads my others had. Mixed with audigy 2 zs and the super simplified controls my x-530's are rockin.
