  1. Scary stuff.....I took my 15 year old daughter to the hospital an hour ago; she has classic, escalating H1N1 symptoms. She's had her first dose of tamilflu, I'll be getting her prescription for more anti-virals at 11:00 am. We're keeping her isolated from our 6 year old.

    I'm frightened. ph34r.gif

Scary indeed. Sorry to hear that.

You're right about the isolation. I'd also suggest sanitizing as much as possible with a 50 ppm solution of bleach and water. That's about a capful for a gallon. Put on some protective gloves (I buy them by the carton) wet a rag with the solution and wipe down door knobs, faucets, etc. Lysol disinfectant spray is good too. And of course proper hand washing.

    Keep us posted please.

  2. Lose/Lose: Kill an Alien, Delete a File 3:28 am (UTC-7) | by JM Hipolito (Technical Communications)

Anyone who has ever played a video game—whether in an arcade, using a gaming console, or on a PC—knows how a good kill can get one all excited and pumped up. Games that involve killing certain entities give us the thrill of being in such an exhilarating situation, without suffering any serious consequence. A certain Mac OS X game called Lose/Lose has been getting attention for its rather controversial effects.

The game, created by Zach Gage, somewhat resembles the format of the popular game Space Invaders, wherein the player is represented by a spacecraft and the goal is to kill the aliens placed all over the screen. Gage's game, however, has a different twist, which has been causing quite a stir.

Killing is sport, ain't it? 'specially those dirty aliens. What's a lad to do without a gun? Maybe think?

  3. I'm waiting for the reviews before I seriously consider it. But since Qworst pulled the wireless plug on the first of the month, I am sans cell phone.

I also have read that Verizon released another Android phone. The Eris. Half the price of the Droid (along with half the processor speed) and a touch screen keyboard.

  4. I'm a huge Yankees fan! I'm so glad they won. This year was an amazing season. This team reminded me of the most of the team back in the 90's - I think everyone just clicked.

    B

    I agree.

Interesting note: I was watching Mike Francesa today on the YES Network. He quoted a lot of the players as saying that the reason for this year's success was NOT emulating the 90's teams, but realizing thier own greatness as a team. And of course the team cohesion helped tremendously. Just look at ARod this year compared to the past five years.

    #27. How sweet it is!

  6. We all at one time or another we change our cell phone servers. Right? We also end up with a drawer full of cell phones and wonder what to do with them.

It is a foregone conclusion that these cell phones contain contact numbers, email addresses, passwords & more. Naturally, you do not want to throw out these cell phones into the dumpster because it is not beneath criminals to search for them there in order to steal your information, so as a result we toss them into a drawer or cardboard box.

While searching for something totally unrelated on the internet I came across a free software that will erase your cell phone data if you choose to recycle your cell phone or chuck it out or whatever.

Here's another Cell Phone Data Eraser. biggrin.gif

  7. Hey Joe, what will happen is in the setting for Google Voice it will allow to switch between these two options. The first option is that all calls will show up on your phone as your Google Voice number, so that you know its from Google Voice. Or the second option is it will show the original phone number that is is from.

    Peace,

    Adam

    Thanks.

That's what I was hoping for.

  8. Google and many other tool bars can be doing this. If you want to allow pop ups and no one I know does, you can uninstall those Tool bars.

The way I read it is that he's trying to open pages in another window. Not just block pop ups. If so, my instructions will work.

  9. I just watched Jeff's video review of Google Voice.

I have two invitations and am planning on trying it out when I get my new cell phones. Still not sure which carrier I'll be switching to.

My question is caller ID. Will Google Voice show the original callers ID, or will it just show the ID of where I'm routing the call from i.e. my phone number? Also is it number only, or name/ number?

    Thanks,

    Joe

  10. Just a guess, but dilute some hot pepper sauce and spray it around the engine compartment.

Mmmmmmm.......Squirrel Jambalaya in hot pepper sauce. biggrin.gif

Now I am hungry for squirrel. I have dozens of fat happy ones running around my yard squirreling away the butternuts from my tree. I had to yell at one storing the nuts on my truck's engine. Must be he wanted them cooked.

    LOL

I had hordes of them in NY and CT. They were always around. Out here I hardly ever see any. I guess they are smart enough to avoid this rediculous heat, unlike myself. Either that or the snakes and Gila Monsters eat them all. rolleyes.gif
