  1. Call me ignorant (i dare ya ), but I've never had a problem with cut/pasting a program (not anything like Visual Studio or anything, a simpler program) fro mone drive to the other, as long as all the shortcuts know where it is and, in some rare circumstances, registry keys.
  2. Are you sure it doesn't ask for a destination? If you really need to you can just cut and paste, but you'll need to change all the shortcuts and everything.
  3. Oni, are you referring to Wine? If so, it's a fine program, but I wouldn't use it for things like MSOffice where it would just be easier to get the Linux Counterpart. Wine, is good, but it's not perfect.
  4. Where you will have to reformat the drive (or partition) in order to install Linux, it will not be a problem. When installing Linux a new filesystem will be assigned to it.
  5. Yes, the backups will restore things that you've fixed. But, as of right now, everything looks to be on the up and up. If it's alright with you, I'd like to close this topic to make way for new ones. If you'd like it reopened, just PM me, an Admin, a SuperModerator, or another member of the Hijackthis Team.
  6. Efwis, Note: I'm an answering for Linux in general, I have never used Knoppix It's not as easy as being "compatable", you cannot just install MSOffice on a Linux machine and have it run. However, there are programs out there like KOffice and OpenOffice.org that perform the same functions and can read files from MSOffice programs. Many distros have utilities pre-installed, many of them have fax programs. For the easiest transition I recommend you use (at least for now) a distro like SuSE Pro. It has an install process similar to Windows, which is more many Linux Distros can say. There is also v
  7. Yeah, you can probably just have HT fix all the O18 pertaining to it. I'm still waiting on the e-mail from Logitech. The rest of your log is clean. =D
  8. 1. As much as I say I hate rap I spit a mean freestyle. And I enjoy listening to some rap (Jedi Mind Tricks, mcchris) as well 2. I'm very shy in real life, which some people find strange for someone who is 6'3" 220 lb 4. I don't know how to count (hehe, just kidding, couldn't think of a 3rd one)
  9. Hello Digidave, All of those O18s are protocols your Logitech Desktop Messenger has regisitered to itself for one reason or another. Logitech Desktop Messenger is a program that communicates with Logitech, which Logitech devices you have connected to your computer, and which Operating System you are running. However, it seems like it comes with a version of Backweb. You should, in theory, just be able to go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall Logitech Desktop Messenger (and Backweb, if present) and it should take care of everything, but why don't you just post a new Hijackthis Log anyway? Th
  10. Moonlight History Channel or Discovery Channel?
  11. Hello omarramo12, I hate to jump in half-way through, but Besttechie's at school right now. Is Norton Anti-Virus updated and running correctly? csmms is a sign that you are infected with BackDoor-CIO. NAV should, in theory, detect it, but I am working on looking for another way to remove it. I'll get back to you soon. EDIT: Can you do a system search for mscdmss.dll, it doesn't seem to be showing up in any of your HijackThis logs, but it should've created a run entry for itself.
