thanks pete that is interesting info so far the hdd is working ok so the format must have done the trick with out you guys ide be like a fish out of water i thought that was the problem but i thought ide asked your opinion first marty

is your volume control out of sync open your volume control and see if you can pinpoint the problem in in advance properties marty try opening your volume control in the tray or try putting you install disk in the cdrom and press r for repair i think that is what white wolf is referring to some times that helps my opinion :your volume control is the problem marty

in that case cell phones are no better than landlines last year i had a phone dialer take over my landline and run up tolls so i had to put a oin number on it to send tolls those buggers so one is safe with modern tech these days marty

recently i played around with another op sys as i have two hdd i targetted the spare one ok after i finished playing all of a sudden i started getting blue screens i read where xp dosent get blue screens so i had to pinpoint the reason on another thread i read with hdd"s you need to format them no matter what you have put on or off on them and perhaps this was the cause of the blue screens ok i formatted the hdd and so far so good previously the hdd was empty. but does the board think this was the cause and formatting has fixed the problem ive never had a blue screen before so i was at panic

he uses windows firewall only there isnt any message the fire wall isnt operating and has let stuff through with out seeing the compt ime in the dark one of the reasons i posted many of you have not liked windows firewall ive used it ever since it came into being i found it is good as any but that is a personal opinion other wise i would have had trouble like my grand son the other reason i couldnt afford the commercial versions at the time i got him to install hi-jack this and send me the log file so i can ask you, if you would mind reading it. is on line gaming danderous? marty

thanks for the reply yes as i said it hasent happened to me so ime lost my grand son knows i post on these boards so he asked if i could help something i found since i sent in my first post is they play online games is this a virus risk or a hi-jack risk ime in the dark here marty

ho team my grandson rang and said his firewall [windows] had been disabled or it is blocked is this a hi-jack malware or a hacker operation how do i find a tool to clean it if any ime not up with this as it dosent happen to me but many of you can help ive searched the board for any reference to this problem but i cannot find any thanks marty

ok JD to be able to transfer a from powerpoint to the board would i need to use another wordprocesser i can send then to the board from attachments but i have to save them to my pic folder and beeing not so adept at this some times it dosent give me the option marty

do i save it to my pic folder and as i use tiny pics up load it from tinypics funny thing ive tried that ans some pics or video will up load but some wont for example i have two programs which is presented by powerpoint but i can get them to load from an eamil to the board what am i doing wrong it seems tiny pics dosent handle all extensions marty
