StealthG Posted July 31, 2006 Report Share Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Hey all, I recently installed a harddrive but i am not sure if that is what is causing this. anyways, i cannot launch any applications, when i attempt to open any application i get an "open with" box and i have to browse the computer for the original .exe. Also, when i attempt to open the add/remove application i get the error, "C:/WINDOWS/system32/rundll32.exe, Application not found. same error occur when i right click on my computers properties, or when i try to open mike lins startup control panel. just about everything gives me an error. i need some serious help here because this is my main computer.*Im running home edition with SP2 Edited July 31, 2006 by StealthG Quote Link to post Share on other sites

MrBill Posted August 1, 2006 Report Share Posted August 1, 2006 Try this. Quick and easy. Not saying it will solve your problem but does a lot of times...1. From the Start menu, select Run. 2. In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow) 3. Select the OK button. 4. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process. Keep your XP disc handy as it may be needed.5. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
