UNBELIEVEABLE! Almost every single American is tapped by ATT/NSA. NSA using ATT as their internet server. im sure you are tapped.I already know the rules about Political, but i highly doubt this is related to politcal.... wellll kinda but as long people dont talk political, i think we should be fine Edited June 29, 2006 by DarkestDream

DarkestDream
but it didnt mean you not tapped. But amazing, ATT is the main reason why they change their privacy policy because of NSA wiretapping. it just silly
Steamhead
i only get that att thing when i trace it through nsa.gov too ...
DarkestDream
basically, most of us is still tapped. If you see ATT on the list, then you are tapped
Carnevil
Wow, this is just ridiculous. Please somebody help me I ran a traceroute and I have 4 at&t routes, 2 in detroit and 2 in chicago. Oh god no the NSA is sniffing my traffic, that means they know I download porn. Just for reference take a look at this http://www.cybergeography.org/atlas/att_backbone_large.gif Eventually you'll go through an at&t node. bozodog
Well, well.... I didn't chase the trace but I'm sure glad I'm off the land-line thing. Cable and Vonage have set me free.
tenmm
I have cable internet but I am real sure that the same thing can be done with it.Nad as far as ATT go's I had all landlines removed two years ago.I have the cable for the net and wireless phone service,by dropping ATT I saved near $700.00 a year. JDoors
... Just because my traffic goes through at&t, doesn't definitively mean they are tapping me.

It's not a matter of who you are or what ISP you have, it just depends on where you are, and whre your destination site is, and if AT&T sits between it. Now, wheter or not they really are tapping everything is a different stroy. Just because my traffic goes through at&t, doesn't definitively mean they are tapping me. Matt
Thats assuming this is all true. I didn't see anything in the article with direct proof that all traffic going through att is being recorded.I thought I was missing something -- Why would the mere existance of an AT&T node mean you're being tapped? JDoors
Post cards got you on a watch list?!? Tax dollars at work. My dad modified a rifle in an, umm, highly unusual way. The guy he got the parts from got caught with illegal parts and through his records they nailed my dad. For years after that I got the same kind of strange phone problems you mentioned. We'd say "Hi" to the agents right in the middle of our conversations (not that they ever responded). As for AT&T I imagine software ignores everything BUT the stuff they're actually looking for, so we're getting ignored, not tapped. Unless you're doing what they're looking for. Which I can't even imagine what it might be, since the terrorist sites are probably mentioned all over the web so anyone might take a look-see once in a while. I have zero interest in looking at anything they might want to say. Nor am I curious how to build WMDs. Honest officer!
