I have stopped being overly concerned with them possibly "seeing" where I go. If those cookies are interested in all the tech sites I go to, so be it. Before I visit a site that needs me to login with secure data I make sure to clean my computer of any intrusive crap. My anti-virus recognizes most malicious cookies.When I am done for the day I just completely delete the contents of my Temporary Internet Files, History and Cookies folders. I check my Temp folder for entries that I do not want. There are a couple of items in the Temp folder that pertain to my anti-virus that aid in detection and scanning that must stay. Spyware Blaster does a decent job in blocking many malicious cookies. Opera has an option to delete private data plus CCleaner does a great job in deleting additonal crap.After doing my normal routine of cleaning AdAware only finds a couple of MRUs. In the textbox type the name of the websites that're forcing those cookies on you and hit Enter. For example, I have (among many others):180solutions.comadbrite.comadmonitor.comadserver.comadvertising.comatdmt.comfastclick.comhitbox.commaxserving.comqksrv.net Plus a bunch with 'casino,' 'click,' and ... uh-hem ... 'sex' in the website title. You should be able to get the site name from AdAware. Once the site name is in your cookie-override list IE will not allow cookies from those sites at all. Most cookies are a necessary evil, but are quite safe in that they enable you to interact with the site you are on. Third party cookies though are IMO purely evil and have nothing to do with the site you are currently on. They usually track you to sell the info to advertisers. Firefox disables these by default.
