A Theory About The G4 Boards

This was one of the first attempts to find a reason to demod me.

They caught Zorro in the trap. I got a scolding for telling people how to block PMs from specific users and telling folks to add this individual to their blocked list.

I also got falsely accused of banning people I did not ban and failing to document it by one of the senior mods; but despite the claim that it was backed up by server logs they could not produce them and dropped it  when I would not quit.

Finally they just demodded me without giving me the chance to quit.

That just sucks the way you were treated over there.

I find that I never post over there because of the strangeness and the way that people are treated. I think I've kicked the G$ habit for good.

I had a suspicion some of that was going on before, but not to that extent.

Why not just be honest in the beginning to you mods, and tell you that you have to play 'momma may I', otherwise you were to be left powerless by their turning the boards into alley trash with no real rules now. What the mods are for now over there is beyond me, unless it is to lock/delete all threads talking about their mishandling of switch from Tech Support to Call For Help, or about the demodded and banned mods, or how we feel about the trashed boards, etc.

I am so hoping that somebody with a good lawyer takes them on for a class action suit in contributing to the delinquency of minors who are their prime target audience.

I would guess it is all of the above and more.

And perhaps add in some major ego problems at top, and perhaps someone at top that is into corrupting the morals of youngsters by the porn, bad language and other trash now going on.

From the first (of only a few I ever looked at it) day I ever saw the G4 network, I wondered at the lack of moral value of the shows content and suggestive attire of hosts. I suspect the current raunchiness of the boards corresponds to some one with those same personal tastes, up in management levels overseeing both network and boards. One person comes to mind, and he was high up on MTV at one time before going to G4 at takeover of TTV time. Don't know if he is still around but am betting he is. I can't think of his name right now, but he had his hand in everything from the beginning of takeover, was said to be a very hands on controls guy. This is only my suspicious opinion however, with no real evidence to back it up. But if it was someone up the ladder, and that was their goal to trash it all, then they have sure done a number of things to accomplish that goal.

I just today was warned by a board friend to watch my step wherever I went over there, and that is not the only warning I have had from various friends who try to protect me. Bless them for their kindness. I guess I should listen and leave for good. So sad a place, and so hard to help people there. I don't even know why I keep on going over every few days to the now so called CFH board. I will just have to give it up finally as it will never be what it used to be. So sad how it turned out.

I also wander over there from time to time just to look around and stare in dumb-founded amazement at the carnage. G4 was always a nuthouse, but, now it is careening completely out of control. I guess we're attracted to the place because it holds some morbid fascination for us. I very rarely post there.

Taking the language filters off and allowing kids to look at pron is plain wrong.

OmiGod, that's the saddest part then: it's all due to typical American-style management! Aiiieee! I can't stand it! Micromanagement by higher-ups who don't know how to do the job in the first place! Argghh.

I have a conspiracy theory I would like to discuss.  I have no evidence, but I haven't been able to talk my self out of the possibility.

  I started a thread yesterday, mostly being playful, volunteering to mod just for the purpose of hunting down and banning the trolls.  I know they can do it, they outed WM when he changed his screen name.  The reaction was quite chilly, and the thread got locked.  Now I am not a genius or anything, but it got me thinking.

  Didn't they already get caught on the show for faking callers?  And if they have used this ploy before, isn't there a chance that they don't want anyone knowing who is trolling because it is a Mod or a G4 employee?

  I know I shouldn't care, but I just can't get it out of my mind for some reason.

it gets on my nerves too but i have a little problem with not helping people. after the Leoville meltdown i told so many people through PMs and email about the part i saw happen that i got so sick of talking about it. but i just couldn't turn them away. after JoshuaPet or another admins deleting everything you just couldn't find out what was going on. so where could you turn? except to a few people like me who stayed online that whole day, reading what i could.

i have to admit ive been there to delibritly swear

to test the waters

and it seems to go over their heads .

so like all the posters say open slather .

back to pete

when we shifted from techtv .

to g4

pete protected us from power hungry mods .

a couple of them pushed us around

and pete jumped in and.

and helped us to adjust .

it made me so nervous

i used to make all sorts of mistakes .

so he will be missed by many.
