cherokeechief Posted August 28, 2005 Report Share Posted August 28, 2005 here is a quick way to rename your recycle bin.the reg edit that was kellys' XP Korner, had made a little mistake and it will not work with out a simple change.so i will skip on what to change and tell you how to make a reg file that will enter when you double click on it.open up your note pad. and copy and paste this to itWindows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]"Attributes"=hex:70,10,00,20"CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000name the file recyclerename.reg, and save it.then when you double click on it it will be entered to the registry, and then when you reboot, you rt click on the recycle bin, you will see rename there.have fun. bearskin Posted January 16, 2006 Report Share Posted January 16, 2006 Terrorist, I thank you for leading me in the right direction...I could be wrong but I think you forgot something...this is how it works in winme:[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}in right hand pane change DEFAULT to Trash Can or whateverthen I had to go down to the third line: LOCALIZED STRING@C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\shell32.dll,-8964@1033,Recycle BinI changed that line to:@C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\shell32.dll,-8964@1033,Trash Cancheck that out and tell me if I'm wrong.Thank you.
