How to set or change registry editing permissions in Windows XP

i am not able to change any settings in the registry. i can not edit any registry keys.how can i do it.

please help .

Specific keys or the whole thing?

Are you an admin account?

It can be done with a vbscript using regini.exe

Have you had a malware expert check your hijackthis log to ensure this is not the result of a virus?
