shanenin
have a 500gb seagate drive formatted with fat32. I have this drive plugged into my macmini using firewire. I am running leopard. I am not able to write to it. I get a drive can't be modified error. Any ideas?
shanenin
according to the mac, the files system was ms-dos, I assumed that meant fat32(most external drives come that way). It turns out the drive is formatted ntfs. That was the problem.
cherokeechief
i haev a mac book pro and i tried to add some files from it to a hard drive i haev that was formatted NTFS, but here is the deal, mac is not formatted NTFS, it can read the ntfs files and fat32 files but can not write to them cause the mac files system is much differant from MS
isteve
You can read or write to FAT32 but only read NTFS. So if you sharing a drive between Windows and Mac format as FAT.
