OK I have it installed already. I just want to know how I join my router to another network and then see it and use it.

OK I have DD-WRT .24 installed on my linksys router and I have not figured out how to do the join deal? I mean I hit join on a few networks around here and I was not able to see the router on my ibook. I was not even able to get on the web with it connected to the router. What is the deal? amd I doing something wrong?

Well here is the thing sports fans, go look at www.dirtpit.tv and click on either show #5 or #6. You see the quality there? I am trying to get that good with out having to up the quality to meet it. So far all the programs I have tried to meet that quality have failed. I have had to bring them all up. Look at #4 or #7. Those files have become huge. I mean they are well over 300Mb. The ones for #5 & #6 are about 150 or there abouts. So what the heck do I do here. The guy that shot the video for the site is not sure he can recreate the session in Priemer again so what do I do?

OK gang I am looking for a free .wmv to .flv file converter that is free. I need to convert a bunch of .wmv files to .flv and still keep the quality that is contained in the file. Where do I go?

OK I was looking into a few things on Yahoo, Google, and also MS Live and they all suggest a sitemap for my sites. I was looking at Sitemaps.org and so far I think I can create a generic one but not to sure. Can anyone on here help me out by leading me to a place that just shows me a sample I can edit and work with?

I am wanting to have the wmv videos that are on the page, http://www.dichroic-glass-light-sculpture.com/ to loop and work correctly in every browser even if it is on windows or mac and look the same on both.
I'm not sure I'm completely understand what you want to accomplish here...can you reword it?B

Yes but it does not seem to loop as in the wmv's in FireFox and I want it to repeat.

I went through feedburner once already but did not see the point of having two rss feeds per site when I already have one on the site now. I mean is there something out there to submit my rss feed to? Maybe there is something out there that will get it as in hits up there.
I would take some time and go through all of the features and functions FeedBurner provides and you will see it gives you an easy way to promote your feed and get it out there as well as making it as user friendly and easy to use with as many RSS clients as possible as well as a number of other things. -
well I just dont think that I see the purpose of feed bunner. I mean I have both sites in feedburner but again just dont see what it will help me with.
FeedBurner is an excellent way to manage your RSS feeds for multiple sites or just a single site. It provides a number of features, optimization functions, and statistics. Read over their site and FAQ. It really is worth it in my opinion, provides a much better experience for you and the user.B

what buttons would I add?Well, what I do is use something such as FeedBurner and let them handle all that stuff. For example, the BestTechie Blog and Rock n' Review RSS feed subscription stuff is all located here:

I find that using FeedBurner is the easiest way to manage your RSS feed on any site.
Also I do use a WordPress plugin that adds the social bookmarking buttons to the bottom of the blog posts.

Content is king if you have good content then the Digg and all the other buttons will come into play.To start link to other pages and get other popular site to link to your site. Also a link to your site in your signature here wouldn't hurt either.

What is the point of having a del.icio.us button on my website? I see them here and there and if it will help me get hits and traffic I am all for it, but if it just a hog, then I will ignore it. What do you guys think?
I mean I have a digg button but so far those have not really helped with traffic for my sites. I want something that is going to help get traffic to my sites.
What do you guys think would help? I mean what would get me some great traffic? Do you think submission of my rss to pages would help? Give me some help.

Again I think that having an unpatched PC is the worse thing of all. I think that if leave it open, you could screwed. I installed the update since I built my PC and it is an AMD and I have had no problems at all. I think just some people need to watch how they patch things and also watch how their system is setup. I think that if you got the update from WU I think you would be fine. I again think the problems much like SP2 and SP1 are minor. I because if it was that bad and I mean that bad when it came out from the last time they had issues, they would have yanked it again. I just think again this stuff has been tested and that MS will fix the problems that are out there.
same here. When I clicked on the auto-update shield, it showed sp3 and then it just disappeared. I think I'll wait. -
No dont wait. Get it now. It is an update that you need. Dont be foolish and wait. Just because people are having issues installing it, it is just because of hardware. If you do it from the WU you will be fine. Mine went through just fine.
Sure appreciate the discussion. When I saw SP3 show up ready to download, I assumedit was okay but knew to check this wonderful board first.
I also read in an article today that SP3 was not going out until sometime in June to the people
who have their computers set to automatically download updates .
After reading the comments here, I'll wait until June for sure.

Slipstreamed it yesterday. Need to do my other copy today. I am not pleased with the SP3. It adds and removes a bunch of stuff that I had moved to propper places. Dam MS.
Well, I just installed it without a hitch! Took about 30 minutes to install. After I got the re-activation screen ("due to hardware changes") I was a tad bit concerned, but I just used the internet activation and everything is working fine... so far! -
Wow. I hope this is worth it all. I am downloading now. It says May 6th but I hope this is not a beta.

God why can't MS make a program that works. This is starting to remind me of MS BOB or Windows ME.They are attempting to do so. Unfortunately , people jump the gun and the product is very complicated and takes time to perfect.
They have alpha and then beta releases, they test them extensively and then release them through technet and the Microsoft Software Developers Network to testers who hopefully will discover any conflicts with their products and notify microsoft and between the two either the software developer will fix the incompatability in their product or microsoft can work around it.
Finally they post Release Candidates, where they think they have solved all the problems they were alerted to , but know that there is still a chance that there are undiscovered problems. These are not intended for use by the average consumer or on primary computers, but by members of the testing community who have a spare computer they use for beta testing who are willing to risk it all and put things to the test.
Unfortunately, while SP3 was scheduled for release April 28, just before that date; they were alerted that there was a problem and they pulled the scheduled release. Hence the not quite ready for prime time version is still out there on the servers and those who jump the gun and try to download it will risk problems. While it is possible that they will release a patch for these people, it is more likely that they will just release a fixed SP3 and tell all beta testers and those who jumped the gun that they need to uninstall it and run system restore to get back to where they were before installing the bad version and then get the final version.
So in this case; unless there is a specific reason why you need it now; the best idea is to wait for SP3 to be officially released through automatic updates on windows update.

I stated what goes wrong in the orginal topic post. nothing right now seems to solve the problem right now.
Exactly what goes wrong?Does the ethernet still work and just not the wireless?
Does the router loose communication with the internet (modem) or with the computers, or both?
What solves it , cycling power on the router, on the modem, on the computer, on everything?
Are there any possible RF interference sources? (Cordless phones, wireless mouse and keyboard, microwave oven, CB / Ham radio station....)

OK so what do I do with this .exe file? Do I install it?Wait. The offical release need patching.if you downloaded a .exe file you just double click on it. but, do not use the rtm file. XP SP3 is not ready for the public yet.
there are a few bugs in it. that is why it is delayed to the public. what you downloaded is a leaked version of the XP SP3 RTM, and it was released to the manufactures. but there are bugs in it. just like the vista service pack that was released to the public, it had problems with the drivers not being compatible.
that is the same problem now with the rtm.
if you decide to install it, do at your own risk. the official release is not expected til the end of may or the middle of june. that is when they expect to have the bugs worked out.

Not at all. If you could go back and reread the orginal post, I asked that I would love to know how to use the join feature on the wifi options. I did a site survey and seen there was a way to join the router to another wireless network or so my thinking is. So I clicked join and nothing happened. I could still see the router as I labled it but I seen in the properties that it had the other wireless network's name but I was getting no web or anything from it. So what is the deal here.
