I got my cables from http://sales.unl.edu/catalog/results/Results_By_Category.asp for like $10.
OK I changed the resolution to 1280 x 720 and 60 hrz. But it is has to have the over scan on to fit the full TV. So what more can I do?
OK I have a Intel Mac Mini. I am using DVI to HDMI cable to my TV. I am only able to get 62.3 hrz refresh rate. Also, only able to get 1366 x 768 desktop screen size. I want to have it go all out and be max rez. Also, I noticed that I have to click Overscan in TV Options. So any thoughts would help.
It sounds like EDID. issue, SwitchResX 4 may fix you issue, but cost $20, you can test for 10 days..
which version of the OS are you running..
frq is weird as LCD's normaly are all 60hz unless it is out of range for the TV, a 720p is 1280x720 not 1366x786, which is 1080i(scaled) or HD compatible as it can accept a 1440x1080 resolution and scale it down to the 1366x786. but that is not in the EDID codes so it will fail on a computer not looking for a TV set.. you should try and run at 1280x720 for the best results, unless you have the newer mac mini, as the intel graphics card can not do 1900x1080 for 1080P
nothing really, Over scan is standard in the TV industry, ,TV's do not need to be 100% as they are not monitors.. so you will have some overscan no matter what PC you use on that TV. More expensive Tv's are really monitors so they do not need the over scan..
you can try upgrading you cable and see if the mac see's the 720p setting like mine does (I have the same version but I bought two weeks after apple changed the model and got it for 299)
I use monprice for my av cables.. good prices and good cables.. I paid $4 for a 6ft hdmi 1.3a cable

I have an intel mac mini. It is running Lep not Snow lep yet. Was thinking of going to it. It is a mac mini I bought early this year right before they changed it, just like apple. Is there a way to fix this issue for free? I would like to not spend cash.

Hey guys I recently updated my site to a joomla hosted site. http://www.bogointeractive.com and I want to add a few things to it. Mainly I want to add in a google ads app so I can dump the joomla ads. Also I would like to use the Friend Feed or twitter or some type of news feed in the news flash area. Anyone know how to do this? My server admin is really booked up but if anyone can help me, that would be great.

Hey gang here is a doozy. I have a buddy of mine who wants to use a simple tv input switcher and input his pc monitor via s-video. But we want him to have a second desktop so he can work and not have to worry about personal stuff being shown and have like a youtube video or picture be shown but only using one screen. is there a way to do this simply? We want to use only one PC on this. We are going to be using UStream and the input might get left on and we dont want that to have peoples personal stuff up on the web.

but what you are saying I can not do either of. there is nothing allowing me to uninstall either of them. I am just stuck with that one thing not working until they update anti virus I guess.

you can't remove SP2 there my friend. Don't see a way to do so. plus why would I do that. I see it is simply a problem with my virus scanner. Everything else all works but that one deal.

OK I disabled ones that were not verified and here are some that I had to disable.
1) Sophos Web Content Scanner (Sophos is my virus scanner)

Tried to reinstall but it will not allow me since it has been upgraded. So who knows what is going on. Maybe just using FF until I reinstall is what I am going to have to do. It sucks because I have lots of stuff that require IE. Also, I tried the no addons and that one does not work either. I launched into safe mode and it works just fine. So I don't get it.

OK I have an issue here. I had IE8 installed and just recently installed Vista SP2. Now I can't run IE at all. I can click on the icon over and over and over and nothing. So not sure what happened. I open firefox and it is fine.

I have java already installed before I installed bonjour! So what to do now is up in the air.

Nope no other XP machines or Vista or what ever. I went into the firewall and allowed Bojour to connect through so it should be working. Also I know things work since mac mini sees the printer just fine and connects. So I am thinking something is not working right in Windows to the mac and vice versa. I hope there is no need to turn on file sharing on ibook as that is something I never need or want.

Because when I look at my user accounts in windows, it says Bob (Administrator) so that would mean I am an admin no?

Yep! That comes with those errors too. All I do is right click on the program and choose run as admin and click continue or what ever to run as an admin.

OK I am trying to set it up using bojour and it is not working. I am getting an error. I get all the way to the end and then I get a box that says, "you do not have sufficent access to your computer to connect to this selected printer."

have a Cannon MP160 and it is hooked into my ibook g4. I have setup printer sharing on OS X 10.5 but Vista Ultimate is not seeing it.What is the deal?

HDMI Splitter Question

OK I am doing some work for a local bar owner. He is getting a PC with HDMI out and wants to feed several TV's via HDMI. We found a splitter on http://monoprice.com and was told by them that it should all work the way we want it to. Anyone think otherwise? Mainly it says that all we would do is extend the desktop and all would be well.
