Interesting thread, marty:-) I am also very concerned about the bird flu even though it has not mutated into a lethal human form capable of person to person transmission. The potential for a global pandemic is perhaps there. I'm very interested in this story.

Happy Birthday, Lindsay!!!!

Yeah, which means it may not happen........too bad......it probably should have been designed to run other browsers in the first place as you said, jcl. It will be interesting to see if they attempt to make it compatible.......maybe they're just blowing smoke.
-
Yes, it probably isn't multi-browser functional in its present form, but, they're perhaps going to work on that.

This thread seems fine to me, JSKY:-) Let's stay clear of politics and this thread will stay open.

I just sent this e-mail to Ajaxwrite: Perhaps if enough interested users suggest this they will modify their product. We will see.

Hmmmmm.......that's pretty stupid that Ajaxwrite doesn't support all browsers, t0c. Not exactly ready for prime time. Yeah, Carnevil, I agree with you. If you can't access it with your browser of choice it doesn't make the cut. Oh well, maybe after enough people get upset with the developers they'll expand support for all browsers. A cool idea though, but, this is alpha level software.

I agree, shanenin, it is a great little app indeed. Yes, M$ should worry. There are wonderful office suites out there that are free. I'm happy with Abi Word and Open Office. Ajaxwrite has been added to my list of cool toys that are actually functional, worthwhile.

LOL, good one, JSKY!!!!!!

Welcome, Cliff Krimmel, to Besttechie.net!! The best forum on the Internet.

Thank you, Bubba Bob! I like the idea of web-centric apps, you can type a doc anywhere, save it to your HD, or archive it to the Internet and retrieve it later. Software should be freely available to everyone.

Hey, I just read this at slashdot, it is sort of cool. Ajaxwrite is a web based word processor that is platform independent. That is, you connect to the application on the net with your browser, launch it, and a fully functional word processor launches. You can use Linux, Windows to run it. You can type documents then save them to your hard drive in a variety of formats M$ Word, Open office, etc. Ajaxwrite

Nice to meet a fellow Canuck! I've used paypal before it is a very good payment option, safe and secure. Uh, yeah you may be dinged for taxes when your stuff comes north of the border, I've had to fork over some money on an order shipped to B.C. before. Heck, go for it, I've received great deals from the USA.

Hi, Check out my pinned topic "Some useful Links". As far as I know Ubuntu is the only company that will send you totally free CDs. You can always buy some inexpensive CDs for a few bucks. Have fun choosing.
