Opera is good, agreed. I use both Fire Fox and Opera. I prefer Fire Fox. Each to his own of course.

Which browser doesn't work? Opera Dang......perhaps this is as good a reason as any to give Fire Fox a try. Fire Fox 1.5.0.6

Weird indeed! I don't know why Google would leave out Opera. Perhaps the code for Writely would be too complex if Opera was included? I think Safari is maybe supported, I know a mac user who uses Writely.

I agree:-) It is very good indeed! Also because it is created by Google you know there will be money behind it and it won't be beta forever.

I just discovered this; Google has created an on-line word processor that has similar features to word. I just registered with it and gave it a try. I think web-centric applications like this are the way to go. I tried it on my linux box and it doesn't hog a lot of system resources. It works with FF and IE. What do you think? I agree completely with building a customer base by being inexpensive and giving a way some service for free. That has been what I have been doing: free data backup with reinstall(this can take an hour sometimes), free pickup and delivery(sometimes), reccomending free antivirus, instead of selling them some. When I deliver a computer, I will offer to reinstall their printer drivers, and free phone advice, many other things I should be charging for. All of these things could and maybe should be turned into real sales. I ponder this question all of the time. Charge more(going rate) for services
