  1. Im looking to sell my pc to a friend who wants it. Its a dell p4 2.6, 256 mb ddr ram, cd rom, 120 gig hd, onboard graphics...i was thinking 300 bucks. Do you guys think this is a fair price?
  2. I wasnt too impressed. Im usually not a squad based person. Far Cry is my favorite game of all time.
  3. I remember a while back something about you cant access windows update with out sp2. Im sure you can download it other places besides the windows update page. And yeah...ill say what everyone else is thinking, if you dont believe in firewalls youre about as stupid as someoen that doesnt believe in a condom.
  4. Ok..I have what i think is a killer system. I have played doom 3, far cry, hl 2, painkiller...are there any other really good graphical fun games out there? Doesnt have to be an fps but preferablly not a strategy game. I am more than likely getting tiger woods in the near future.
  5. Well for whoever asked, firefox does have the google toolbar.
  6. OK, the only part I can't quite figure out is "google toolbar offm." OFFM? (And I wouldn't call a problem with an IE add-on an IE problem exactly ... ) I don't know Google's toolbar, heard it's safe, but I would run all the usual malware scans just in case. Since GTB is an add-on, it might be set to force you to use at least some of its features, you might want to check the help files to see if those features can or cannot be disabled. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ill solve your IE probelem Get firefox haha.
  7. Well i got my system up and running finnaly. The antec p160 case i got wouldnt work so i got some cheapo case. Besides that its great. Everything runs fine. I scored 7868 in 3dmark05. Ah.....i love this machine.
  8. Will there be a problem moving my hard drive in my current system to my new system i am building? I have currently misplaced my windows xp cd so if i have to reinstall that, that will be a pain in the butt.
  9. Considering everything read from the memory goes in and out of it; I'd say yes. Along with the PSU it's one of the most overlooked/unappreciated parts for a gaming computer. Get the XMS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I unfortunately just ordered it with out the xms. If i notice a huge slump in performace when looking at online benchies ill just get the xms seperate. Im still guessing that with my amd 64, and my 7800 gtx, my performance wont be too shabby Cant wait for it to get here!!!
  10. Is the ram really that big of a deal? Since the value select is coming out of my old system its free. 1 gb of XMS is like $125 on newegg. Thanks for the headsup on the psu, ill change it now.
  11. dvd burner case mobo psu cpu gpu On top of that i am taking 1 gb of pc 3200, corsair value select ram, and my seagate 7200 rpm hard drive. Anyone see any problems with this system? If you have any recommendations of things to change, please keep it around the same price. Also, if i am forgetting anything let me know. This will be my first official build from scratch. All i have done up to this point is update current systems.
  12. The seagate cheetah is the fastest hard drive actually. 15,000 rpms. Their 147 gb model is 1200 bucks though lol.
  13. Will there be a huge boost in performance if i go from a 7200 rpm drive to a 10,000 rpm drive? Is it really worth the extra money?
  14. I have heard good things about the Epson Stylus
  15. Lemme see, he self identified as an "IT Guy", so I would hope Joran wouldn't be interested. Crime is actually very low in Aruba. I live around DC, Aruba is a cake walk compared to here. The cost of living is low, and you have a great influx of interesting people. Sure there are bad elements, but I guarantee there are more killers in a few square blocks of any major US city than on the whole island. And mark my words, they will convict the kid regardless of his guilt. They have too much to loose. I just pray they find her, so they can put her to rest. BH <{POST_SNAPBACK}> W

  17. Great question! I was a hiring manager for technical employees near DC until this year, and here are my experences: Companies like to see degrees in computer science and engineering. Having said that, it will probably not have anything to do with your job. I work with an aeronautical engineer and a liberal arts major. My degree is in business, and we all work in Cyber Security. What is most important is the vocational skills you get along the way. The computer science degree gives you an actual skill, coding. If you don't want to code full time, join the club. A lot of us don't choose t
  18. I had the same problem. I updated the drivers on my graphics card and everything was fine. If that doesnt help, go here http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/st...&p_sid=KK3ObKNh
  19. since 1 7800 gtx out performs 2 6800 ultras that comment made no sense at all. I know 2 vanilla 6800s would be much cheaper but the performance would be a HUGE downgrade
  20. Like i said, im not going to spend that much money on a processor
  21. From what I heard most of today's games don't fully take advantage of dual core yet. On Attack Of The Shows Ultimate Game Machine they used a high end AMD 64 FX (of course there's was $1000) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well i dont think im going to go that high end. I plan to use the 4000+ with a good mobo and and 7800gtx.
  22. I am looking at building a high end gaming pc. I am looking at getting an amd 64 4000+ but would it be worth it to upgrade to one of the X2's?
