what media player and driver would that be? I use the Combined Community Codec Pack with Zoom Player to watch video. The CCCP is kind of a must have if you're watching anime in Windows.

for the heck of it (and I'm bored in class) I decided to run a little test on the laptop. A different anime that also has an HD version, I downloaded the final ep but luckily this group released both a regular and an HD version. I ran the HD version with the task manager on and the highest the processor got was 88% but didn't stay up there. The temp stayed around 80-85 Celsius. I'm still running the non-HD version in the back ground and right now it's fluctuating mostly between 17 and 25% and once spiked to 47% and sometimes drops to 11%. The temp is remaining steady at 68-70 Celsius. It seems

Someone told me on AnimeSuki that the processor wouldn't really matter if the 6600GT had native H264 support but it doesn't . H264 is the video type that .mkv uses like my most my .avi's use DivX type video. Well like I said, in a bout a week or 2, I'll have a 4th running computer in my room that'll be smaller, quieter, and better looking that can handle the videos.

The High Definition Darker THan Black video, yes. I also tried a regular .avi of Kekkaishi too. The .avi only went from 25-55% while the High Definition DTB .mkv maxed it.

........ Huh. It seems that the speed of the processor is merely screwing up the video when it loads. All I have to do is move the navigation bar to re sync the audio and it appears to work fine. I'll give it a try. Sitll, I wanna build another media rig cause this one is a mid-tower, beige, and loud. It's bigger than I want and makes too dang much noise. Ok, aside from moving the bar, updating the video drivers and adding a sound card improved nothing. So I'll just say it's a slow CPU and maybe the audio will remain in sync after moving the bar. Still though, the video appeared to slow down a

Nothing is wrong with the video. I tried it on my main rig running both off the external hard drive and copying it to the main drive and running it off that. It's something with the tower. I'm still wondering about the sound so I think I'll pull the SB Live! from the Compaq and see if that's it.

well, like I said it's an HD video and so far this system has the slowest processor that I've tried the video on, yet it has the second most powerful video card (I used to watch video on my main rig which has an Athlon 64 3500+ and twin 7600GT cards). I put the video on my external hard drive and I'll load it onto my main rig and see if the vid has any probs.

Well I setup one of my extra computes to play video for me but my main purpose was so it could play a particular video. One particular anime series I watch is in HD (Darker Than Black, 1280x720) and my laptop has been overheating so the strain of HD video is causing it to heat up and thus the video starts to get choppy and unwatchable. I set-up this other computer so I could watch it (I'm outputting the video to my 27" TV via S-Video). It's specs after the upgrade are as follows: Athlon XP 2000+, 768MB PC2100 RAM, GeForce 6600GT, Integrated audio. Now I figured putting that 6600GT in it would

Well, I didn't have my old Honda's key with me....... well I haven't had it with me in a year. I've had the hatch a year now and yes, this thread is over a year old.

Well, belts fixed. Turns out they were fine. Some bolts were missing from the alternator and that's what was causing the squealing. I dropped off my car this morning expecting to spend $150 or so. Get a call a few hours later (he works fast, faster than any other mechanic I've seen) saying that the belts fixed and it'll cost 60 bucks. Turns out that my car is not at all low on fluid. It is leaking but not enough to account for anything. He said it was full and clean........................then my fear was confirmed. Bad synchros. Dammit, add in the cost of replacing the diff and the synchros,

never gonna join the military (Dad was in the Guard for 28 years and told me not to join anything). And no, I'm not gettin another car. This is a restoration project (that's just weird saying that for a 96 car) and by golly it's gonna get done eventually. Even my dad is wantin me to fix it up cause he likes it too. What's trippy is this thing impressed a guy (only 16) that drove a 2006 BMW 3-Series with a straight 6 and 6-spd manual. Him and his friend thought the intake and was cool and of course they actually know about cars (BMW's though not Hondas) so what actually impressed them the most

well, the most of the labor cost for that one does toward dropping the tranny from the car. It's a pain in the @$$ trust me. That's why I plan to have Jose and a few friends help me drop the tranny and carry it to the mechanic for him to change the diff. Of course I plan to have them help me get it back in too. Well, tomorrow I'm gettin the belts fixed and fresh MTF. Hopefully that will fix my 3rd and 4th grinds or at least make it better. The synchros may be going, I don't know.

Well, my car is goin to the mechanic's Friday. Gonna get the squealing belt(s) fixed and gonna get an MTF change (Manual Transmission Fluid). My car is dangerously low on MTF. Unfortunately it's still gonna leak when it gets changed but it will take a while to get this low again. I have to have my differential replaced to stop the leak but i won't be able to afford that for a long time. It'd cost more than $700 if i just took the car there and had him do it. it'll only cost around $200 if I took the tranny off and took it to him. I'd probably have to grab Jose to help me on that one though. he

Not really much of an update to the car but I sold my old car's ECU for $90. I plan to run my car by my mechanic's and have him fix this squealing belt (a horrible loud squeal when I start the car). Now if I can just get the rest of my crap sold I'll be good. I need to get the coilovers off my old car and either sell them or put them on my car (probably sell them cause it'd cost like $200 to install them and I'm not installing them myself). After that I can finally junk my old car's shell. Also, the dude i sold the ECU too was driving.......... a Horizon Gray Metallic 95 Civic EX Coupe. Luckil

well, in that case, i may just start doing what my friend in Cali does. he burns off all his stuff to DVD but my DVD-Burner is kinda sketchy at times. What I may do is buy a new hard drive to store this stuff on. When a series finishes I'll burn it to a DVD and put it in a CD book or something but keep it on the hard drive too. Just have the DVD's just in case. I'll also burn everything else finished too. I just don't wanna lose this stuff cause I plan to go back and watch a lot of it again.

As some of you may know, I download anime like crazy. I have WAY too much for my current storage space. It's spread across 2 computers and 4 hard drives. I want to order a large hard drive (at least 400GB but preferably 500GB or larger) but I am havin one heck of time picking. Reviews are scaring me on newegg cause I wanna store a large amount of my anime and I don't wanna risk losing any of it. These larger drives from WD, Samsung, and Seagate all seem to be having failure issues for internal drives. Also, I'm debating whether to get an internal SATA3.0GB or a external USB2.0/IEEE1394 drive.

Well, in one episode he had gear and said since normally in this situation no one would have all the that stuff that he was not allowed to use any of it for survival.
-
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Survivor Man is way better. He gets dumped out in the wild with no camera crew, little to no supplies, and has to survive for 7 days until he can meet back up with the safety camp. Either that or he has to find a highway or something in 7 days and hitchhike. Oh and he carries all the cameras and stuff himself but is not allowed to use anything from them for survival.
