Joe, Just one more comment. The Triple Crown and other Stake Races are not Handicapped Races. In Stake Races horses are assigned to carry 126 lbs. In Handicapped Races, the weights are THEORETICALLY assigned, so all horses cross the finish line at the same time. I have never seen that happen, but that's the theory track handicappers use. Hmmmm..... So why did she carry less weight?

WOW! Those ARE scary. We have one here that is way below that level of intimidation, but nerve rattling nontheless. The back road from Ash Fork to Yarnell (AZ route 89). This eliminates the monotony of I-17 from Flagstaff or the Grand Canyon to Phoenix, but you need a Xanax and a shot of bourbon when you're done. Really tight winding mountain switchbacks the whole way down. Probably a 4000 foot change in elevation in a short distance. One lane, and you always end up with some lunatic that tail gates you the entire way down, trying to pass on blind turns.

That's a valid point. It is handicapped into the equation though. Kind of like the ladies tees at the golf course.

Some adversity makes life interesting though, doesn't it? Down here all we have is hot weather with smog, or hotter weather with more smog. And of course 24 hour a day traffic jams.

Is that scraps of paper and used tissues I see on the floor? Clean your room kid. LOL Only kidding.

That's funny Marty. Unfortunately I'm feeling more like that every passing day. But I suppose the alternative isn't that much better.

Actually the Preakness was two weeks ago. The Belmont is the third leg of the Triple Crown. (Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont) It's reported that the thoroughbred's owner is considering racing her in the upcoming Breeders Cup though. That's an important event. So as you said, "Go Girl!"
