My husband has it pop up when he boots into his name. Only program I found wants money to remove it. Any suggestions?? (Windows XP Emachines)

I'm going to try to get over there today or tomorrow, I'm leaving Monday for Florida, will try to get the HJT log filed, and tell her to check back, If you post specific instructions for things to be taken off, she should be able to follow them. Thanks guys, you're lifesavers.

A friend was complaining about her pc, so I went over to check it. First of all, she's running DSL with no anti-virus, firewall, or spyware support. Bad idea. Started in Add/Remove, when I could fight through the pop-ups, and found tons of crap. Installed Spybot, it found 327 items, removed them. Adaware found well over 100, removed them. Installed AVG, and get this, almost 200 viruses found! I have never seen such a mess in my life. She said it was her grandkids, but I know she just clicks on crap that comes up too. Anyway, there is something called Yaplock that is left, that nothing will re

Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. It's Belarc (slapping herself on the forehead)..............

I had it on here before I reformatted, and didn't write it down. I know as soon as someone says it, I'll smack myself on the forhead and be like Homer "DOH"... Anyway, it's the one you run and it tells you everything that's on your compyter. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but yes, it was my resolution. Sometimes when I look in the mirror and see that red hair, I think I see alittle blonde poking thru................

I had to reformat my comp (windows xp home) and now everything from the welcome screen to download boxes to aim, is super small. Even this page is tiny. I don't remember this being this way before, what the heck?? Is there a way to make everything bigger? I went to the desktop, right clicked, properties, appearances. Nothing there helped. Help, I'm getting a headache trying to read this stuff....

Ok, I got the dll in, Zone Alarm is installed, thank you. The videos I want to watch insist on Real player, so I'm not sure how to do that in Ultra player. I still get the windows that say the site can't be displayed. Red X's instead of pics. I had the pics option under advanced already checked, so that wasn't the problem. It still seems like a security issue, but I can't find anything different than I had before. -
Ok, I'll try to make this as short as I can.....I put a Linksys router on my e-machines T2042, (XP Home) to hook it up with my HP (Windows 98se). Had a tech guy come and run the NetBUI, everything worked. On the emachine, I started getting errors when trying to run real player in cbs.com, that had to do with the firewall settings. At the same time, the HP was dying, so I figured I would unhook the router, until I get a newer pc to connect to the emachine. Ok, I was still getting the firewall error, so unistalled Realplayer, I used Reg edit to take out everything that had to do with Realplayer,

Good question, I'd say a gun in the wrong hands. Favorite OS?

I've got the wireless router, and 2 PCI cards, but was told to hook these 2 together is a major chore. (Also that I need a " network buoy", whatever that is). Both PC's had OS's on machines, so I have no discs for either. Is it something I should let " someone who knows" handle? I'm kinda techy, but not advanced.
