  1. My two favorite teams are the Packers and whoever's beating the Cowboys

I also hate the Cowboys, and cheer for whoever is playing them to win.

    That's because I'm a REDSKINS fan.

I also like the Patriots, and Packers.

Love to watch Brett Favre play, he has so much fun doing what he does.

    HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

  2. Just a thought......I think if we did get this section, we should just host the images on our own free image hosting site accounts, instead of uploading them here. Uploading the images here would not only take up a lot of space on the server, but could also hog much of the bandwidth, causing the forums to be as slow as it is over at G4 sometimes.

When I mentioned earlier about having a sticky with such information as rules about the pictures. (types of images, size limit, etc.)...

By types of images, I meant the general guidelines like no nudity, inapporopriate content, and language.

By size limit, of course I mentioned this so that someone wouldn't be posting an image that is as excessive such as being 1024*945 or something, and of course no images that are 400k.....this also helps keep the boards running fast and as smooth as possible for our dial-up users.

I also think that in the sticky, should be included links to places to host their images, "how to's" for resizing images, posting them on the forums, etc.

Just some things that should be considered by all who would want to have this particular area to post.

Great idea Neralda. Whatever the guide lines necessary. I just thought it would be a fun idea to see a lot of pictures from different parts of the country and world, that we could share. Do not want to slow up boards either, as I have dial up, and it doesn't take much to slow it down.

I for one wanted to learn about uploading pictures to Photobucket , and another one I think is Webshots. I just learned how to upload a few, but don't know how to download from there. Have not got that far yet.

Like I said previously, I saw this at Worldstart, and thought wouldn't that be nice to have here if possible. The pictures I saw over there are not big and load quite fast.

I don't know enough what the guide lines should be for size. I'm just learning it myself. Just thought I would throw out the idea and see what happens.

  3. Just a heads up for the following. I just got an email from:

abuse at gov.us (at=@) subject line: Illegal web address.

Thanks to Norton, it took care of it, but if you for some reason do not have anti-virus software, DO NOT OPEN.

I have never seen this one before. Looks legite, but has the usual attachment. My first thought was , why would the government send an attachment. They wouldn't.

  4. Thanks for the info, NereldaI'm going to check that out right now.

    EDIT

    Mine was OK.

About a week ago, I was checking for updates, and noticed Spywareblaster had 1 item with protection disabled. re-enabled it and did some scans.

Norton found 1 trojan and quarantined it (couldn't fix it) Trojan.Byte Verify

Spybot found a couple of problems, too

Next day checked Spywareblaster, again, same problem.

Did all of my scans again, and a Panda online scan.

    Norton found the same problem.

Panda online found three problems, and fixed them.

    Problems solved.

I guess it might be a good idea to keep an eye on these entries in Spybot, Ad-aware, and Spywareblaster, from now on.

Damn, this is a never ending battle!

Thanks tg1911 for the info on Spywareblaster.

Went and checked it out and found IE had 1 item disabled. It was "search for it toolbar" IE activex type. Enabled it. Have not done a scan yet. Will do so after I get thru here.

    Thank you so much.

  5. Hey, just a heads up! I was going through all my settings in the "advanced" mode of Spybot S&D when I noticed in "Ignore Products" --> "All Products" tab, that some items under there were checked as default to ignore. These were malicious items such as the infamous "SearchForIt" toolbar. I unchecked all the items that spybot was being told to ignore and rescanned. This fresh scan found several more items that needed to be deleted immediately.

No, these items were not under the "Install/Uninstall Programs." I also go through that regularly to make sure nothing has made it's way in without my knowledge.

Thanks Neralda. I never would've thought to do this.

I went and did what you suggested and this is what I found:

    LSP New Net

    New Net

    My Search

    Side Step

Obviously I have deleted them. Did a google search for these items and it seems others have the same thing.

I don't know what I would do without the good people here keeping us all informed. I learn something here almost every day.

    Thanks again.

  6. How about a section for "Digital" imaging? Not my original idea, but saw it at Worldstart forums.

It is mostly a fun section where people upload their pictures that they have taken, and show them in forum.

They sometimes set up a topic for the week. Like "sunsets" or "sunrise" or whatever you want. I have seen some beautiful pitures there. A place where you can ask & answer questions on how to use a digital camera, scanner etc. How to D/L and upload pictures.

Just a thought. What do you think?

This is where Tyme Kyller could send us some of his pictures from Canada. They were beautiful. How about some pictures from different parts of the world from people here?

  8. Hey, TK, about time you got here. Welcome aboard.

This is a great place that "B" has created for us all to gather.

Sure miss your delightful sense of humor. Take care. Hope to see you soon.

Just kick back, rest up, have a cold one

  9. In full scan, It stuck at objects scanned: 15327 scanning software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies\system for over 12 minutes. I cancelled the scan. Then I couldn't close the program. I had to use ctrl-alt-del. I uninstalled, redownloaded and reinstalled with the same result. Anyone has the same problem?  :(

I just downloaded the new version on my desktop and laptop, did a complete scan on both with no problems at all.

    Barb :)

I also got mine from Majorgeeks.

  10. I like what I see. It does not feel clutered or distracting. It has a very familiar feel to it, scary isn't it?

    Hi novi:

Ditto. I like the soft color of blue. Easy on these old eyes.

I like the definitve separation between different topics and posts. I have a hard time reading G4 and I have changed colors, alternating them to help. A little better, but still hard on eyes.
