hi pat one of the delimas for any goverment is if the flue did hit our shores who woud be to blame them or the population. any goverment tries to make sure they are right at all costs. and many times they arnt. i agree the more populated countrys would have bigger percentages of cases. because i have chest troubles, i have had a flue shot every year for the last 12 yrs. and so far i havent had the flue.[ touch wood] but this bird flue is some thing else. one of the problems is it can be passed on from domestic fowl to wild birds and as you know wild birds embrace the entire world a

hi all i want to post in refence, to this bird flue which now is circulating the globe. the national goverment has passed a law banning people who dont declare having the flue. a term of imprisionment or if they are immergrants deport them new zealand has had a huge influx of asian immergrants in the last ten years and they come and go to and fro from there countries which is affected by this flue it has already crept into many countries i see scotland is the latest we are at a dangerous stage. it can kill millions and i might add it is natures way of culling the explosion of the p

hi jim from my own expereince with xp and sp2 i have a cd like you and when i fresh install xp my first task is install sp2 from the cd this installs the firewall then i trun my up dates to auto and let it run its course the difference is im using dial up which is why i got the cd from microsoft if you have broadband look at the stickies in software tips.at the top of the page i think there is info on sp2 and updates good luck sp2 here

good one Mainter glad you got it fixed some how xp has had this problem if i have a quick shut off or a error i lose that dam icon but i can get it back through the command prompt there have been many posts about this volume icon thing but in different forms i remember some time ago flash4 lost his icon and we all posted different fixes but he got it back by repairing xp marty

when you go to sounds and audio and check th box doe an error come up on the screen if so post back. you may need to reinstall the volume program from the add remove program or from the command prompt i do have the restore code but i dont want to post it in case that isnt the problem marty

i need this to be clarified i was getting a blue screen when i tried to install by mistake i pressed fats at the install and got in to problems. when i posted here to this board i was told to convert the drive to ntfs which i did and i had no more troubles im getting confused here surely the message i got from the board was the right one. this is the second time ive seen a post with fat32 is compatable with xp well it wasent in my case can some one tell me why marty -

xp operates better in ntfs if you install it in fats you will have to convert it to ntfs after the install it looks as tho your sys is corrupted and may be a new install is better xp is installed from the cd and is much easier than the old systems ive reinstalled xp a dozen times when i first got the cd six boot floppys came with it so i had two options cd or floppy cd is quicker and easier but boot floppys act the same except it takes a bit longer good luck i suggest for you to transfer all you privater data to cds or floppys in the future so you dont have this problem marty -
hi novi have you tried yahoo i use a local start page xtramsn and it is ok for local content tho i see it has a contract with microsoft to go world wide i very rarely use search engines when i found google used our personal searches and data over a period of time when i was a poster at techtv c.f.h google logged every post i made to the message board and that p-----ed me off now i see the white house is trying to access that data google was trying to fight it but now have agreed to release certain addresses. so search engines are out for me instead of me going to google i have all

reboot your compt at the bottom of the boot up screen delete will appear press delete and it will take your to the compt settings depending on your sys you may have to use f2 or f12 with xp it is delete marty
