  1. There is nothing better than watching your business grow. But when you’re starting something from nothing, you have to take care of many things – branding, marketing, investment and many related things. You probably have a great idea for your business, but it takes more than that to succeed. Even the best ideas can go down the drain if there is no traffic to your website. Too many people invest in an idea before they know it’ll sell, so don’t be one of those people. Be prepared before you launch your site. On one hand, the fact that over half of the world’s population is now online means yo
  2. Social media contributes to a large part of society today. It makes the world a small place, by enabling content to be shared and viewed from across the globe. We tend to spend our time switching between multiple platforms throughout the day in order to stay up to date on trends, news, and updates from friends. Unfortunately these platforms receive a large amount of profit without ever awarding the ones who contribute the value – the users. Synereo, a company offering blockchain attention economy solutions, has recently launched WildSpark, a social network web app supporting Imgur, Medium a
  3. When I think back to the last vacation I took abroad, my mind immediately goes to that old to-do list of pre-trip arrangements that need to be met. I would look at it, and immediately feel overwhelmed. We all know the preparation pains that come with getting ready for a trip; for example, having to pack, and then deal with sitting on an overstuffed suitcase while trying to tightly zipper it shut. Afterwards, I repeatedly check that my passport is neatly placed and protected in a carry-on bag. When traveling, it is necessary to research where and when to get the best exchange rate for the fore

  5. If you’ve been using WordPress for any number of years chances are your uploads folder within wp-content is pretty huge. I’ve been running BestTechie on WordPress since 2006, that’s nearly 12 years at this point and my uploads folder which holds all of the images and other media files for my posts is currently sitting at over 4GB in size with more than 66,000 media files in it. The thing about the uploads folder is that it’s constantly growing in size. This can add additional expenses to your server(s) and backups. There’s also a better way to handle all of these media files for your WordPress

David Drake) Today I spoke with David Drake, the Chairman of LDJ Capital, a multi-family office with a network based all over the world. Most recently David has been focused on investing and advising cryptocurrency and blockchain companies through ICOs. 8. With the nor’easter bearing down on the North East, somehow I had this “brilliant” idea to to recreate the scene in the movie The Social Network where Mark runs outside in the snow in shorts, socks, flip flops, and hoodie. It didn’t end well, I fell flat kind of like his Cambridge Analytica statement. Anyway, enjoy! You can find Zuck’s full statement on Cambridge Analytica on his Facebook profile. 9. Everything your team does on company resources and company time — matters. Time that’s spent on random websites can detract your worker’s productivity, and visiting certain sites on your company PCs might direct your business to some legal risks. This includes harassment suits from your staff who might be exposed to offensive content. That’s not how you’d want your employees to spend their time in your company. Monitoring software such as ActivTrak lets you realistically view your employees’ screens. Other consequences are more severe than legal lawsuits or a productivity loss. Either malicio
  10. More and more data is moving away from on-site storage and onto cloud services. The problem? There aren’t many streamlined ways to access cloud data while on a desktop or laptop, and when there are, they take the form of multiple separate apps you need to download. Do you store files on multiple services? If you want desktop access, you’ll wind up installing a OneDrive app, a Google Drive app, a Dropbox app, and so on. CloudMounter does away with that, combing access to all your favorite cloud solutions in one simple app. And it works darn well. Add space to your storage-starved device If yo
  11. In Apple’s desire to make its software simple, the company sometimes leaves behind its more capable users. You know — those who grumble every time they buy a new Mac and need to change settings to install non-App-Store apps. Ease of use is an Apple staple, and it’s the reason folks of all ages love the company’s products, but it goes without saying: some people want more control. Those more advanced users, then, will find solace in the Commander One app by Eltima Software. It’s a file management tool that offers more options and more avenues for customization. And its bound to find itself ins
  12. Parents may have difficulty distinguishing between their children’s use of the mobile phone and the abuse of these devices. Because although it is a topic that worries more and more the parents. Although many still have nothing clear and wonder how to detect if my son is addicted to mobile. According to a survey conducted by Common Sense Media, half of the American teenagers are addicted to these devices. And at least seventy-eight percent recognize that they watch the mobile, for less, every hour. In this same line, seventy-two percent say they feel pressured to respond immediately to text m

  14. The field of artificial intelligence is impacting our lives every day — sometimes in ways we don’t even think about. Sure, there are are smart assistants on our phones who want to help us fill out our shopping lists, or cars that want to get us from Point A to Point B without ever touching the steering wheel. But A.I. is also being employed in other ways; ways that keep us playing, and most importantly, keep us spending. Which leads me to my next question: when’s the last time you were at a casino? According to TechSpective, gaming is the latest industry to be touched by artificial intellige
  15. Millennials are known for their attempts to find flexible jobs and paid holidays, but many companies can’t keep up with these requirements, especially if a freelancer or a contractor is in question. Consequently, a growing number of millennials have become digital nomads, trying to be the ones who get to decide what job they will do. Another reason for this is the fact that traveling across countries and mobility are easier to achieve nowadays, which means many employees are ready to leave their comfort zone and try out something new beyond the borders of their country. As a business owner,
  16. Higher education is notoriously full of essays, reports, research papers, and other grueling writing assignments. But if you’re being assigned these kinds of projects in the present, you’re extremely lucky. You can type! Older generations had to scribble out their multi-page reports by hand. You’re also lucky because you have super helpful apps. To your parents, apps were something they got at a restaurant. Think about it. Speaking of writing apps, we want to share a few with you that we’ve grown to love over the years. These apps can help keep your writing sharp, and help make sure you’re
  17. If your website lives on a low-cost web host, chances are, you’re paying for a shared hosting plan. This means that your website lives on the same server as many other websites, and they all share the same storage space, computing power, and bandwidth. Don’t get us wrong: these types of plans are great for smaller websites where performance doesn’t matter all that much. But if you want to provide the best experience to your visitors, keep this in mind: on a shared hosting plan, a traffic surge at a totally unrelated website can severely impact your own site, leading to slow load times and oth
  18. “Everything was going so well until…” Recognize that? If you’re playing the SEO game for a while now, you must have heard this phrase from your fellow webmasters or even from your own thoughts. For some SEO practitioners, a sudden ranking drop can be quite traumatizing. After so much time, energy, and effort put into it, how could it end up so badly? Why did it happen in the first place? Most of us tend to panic. It’s understandable. However, before you bring more agony to the situation, you need to acknowledge and understand that your site’s ranking position in the search engines has a tempo
  19. There’s no shortage of games available for mobile platforms like iOS or Android, but finding a game to play isn’t the challenge — finding a good game to play is. The barrier to entry for developing mobile games is extremely low, meaning lazily tossed together titles can appear right alongside games from Nintendo and Square Enix in search results. Unless you’re doing your due diligence to check reviews for every single game, you could waste your time (and data) downloading something that isn’t worth touching. But rejoice! We’ve searched around and found 3 super fun games, available on both iO
  20. You can become an exceptional recruiter without an innate knack for writing compelling emails. You can shatter headcount goals even if you can’t successfully woo every candidate. Often, what sets great talent teams apart from good ones is the creative, time-saving strategies they use. Whether they want to source smarter, close candidates more effectively or interview faster, these teams are using novel problem-solving methods that work better and faster than most. In this post, I want to share 10 top recruiting hacks for 2018. Through working with hundreds of recruiters, I’ve learned these ta

  22. When their high-tech phones don’t work as expected, some people make jokes and say things like, “Smartphone? It seems more like a dumb phone to me!” Some individuals also bring up how their phones have so many features, and they never use all of them. A Brooklyn-based startup called Light capitalized on the idea that perhaps people don’t need phones that are so advanced they’re like computers that fit in the palm of a hand. The company unveiled its first straightforward phone in 2015 on Kickstarter. That version could only make and receive calls. It wasn’t meant to replace smartphones, but t

  24. Sharing – that’s what social media marketing is all about. You may have the most entertaining, informative, educational and humorous posts, videos, infographics, and articles in your business niche, but if they are not being shared by those who initially receive them, all of your work is for naught. To make social media work for you, you have to identify those who are in your target market, share with them and then somehow inspire and motivate them to share with all of their networks. This is a tough task, to be sure, but here are some social media marketing tools that might just help in big w
