naraku9333
I saw Klik the other day in a kde-apps rss feed. It is an application that allows downloading and running of software without installation. All you do is install the client wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh and select an app to run from the site. There are a few requirements, crypto-loop and cramfs must be enabled and rpm must be installed. I've only installed realplayer10 (picked at random) but it runs flawlessly so far. Im interested in everyones opinion on this app, seems like a very cool idea to me.Ubuntu users need to run sudo apt-get install binutils libstdc++5 rpm gnome-about before the install, and there is a how to for gentoo users. I haven't looked into other distros as I dont use any other distros currently. Edited June 9, 2006 by naraku9333
iccaros
this has been the method for live CD's for a while (mine use it to save space in the ram drive)its good to see them trranslate this to normal installs. (note mine uses overlayFS insted of Cramfs and is why I have not advanced much, I have not gotton cramfs to mount correctly from a live cd at boot)
