Hello srahusson. Welcome to Besttechie! I will be helping you in cleaning up your computer.

Please print out ALL directions given, for use if/when you cannot access this page.

You are currently using HijackThis from a temporary directory, this can cause problems.

HijackThis creates backups, these are needed in case of any recovery issues.

Please create a directory on your C:\ drive called C:\HJT, download and unzip HijackThis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on.

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it.

  1. Please download LSPFix from here.
  2. Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
  3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
  4. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>

Scan with HJT, from it's new location, and place a check next to the following items:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll

O2 - BHO: Katze - {2A611133-1C57-4DFB-A05C-07EE3BFE6D34} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsx31.dll

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D25F921-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [w265f6f7.dll] RUNDLL32.EXE w265f6f7.dll,I2 0006f71c0265f6f7

Then, make sure all browser windows and other applications are closed, and click the Fix Checked button.

Boot into Safe Mode:

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, find and delete the following folder:

C:\Program Files\MyWaySA

Next, find and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsx31.dll

Next, using Windows' search utility, under the Start Menu, search for the file w265f6f7.dll and delete whatever it finds. Make sure when searching, it is set to search System Folders, hidden files and folders, and subfolders. This can be found under the "More Advanced options tab in the left hand search box.

Next, reboot your computer normally.

Finally, rescan with HJT, and post a new log.

Sorry for the delay...i was out of town. Things seem better but i am getting a window that pops up saying w0a570b8.dll is not accessible or available something like that. and i couldnt find the nsx31.dll file and the w265f6f7.dll file i did a complete c:\ search in the hidden files and folders but didnt find them...before you replied i did run ewido and deleted some things so maybe it was deleted in that process? here is my HJT log.

Welcome back.

Please do not reboot your computer again until instructed to. You have a malicious file that changes its name when you reboot. If you have rebooted since your last post, please scan again with HJT and post a new log; and do not continue with the directions.

Scan with HJT and place a check next to the following item:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [w0a570b8.dll] RUNDLL32.EXE w0a570b8.dll,I2 0006f71c00a570b8

Make sure all browser windows and other applications are closed, and click the fixed checked button.

Please download FileFind from Atribune.

Unzip the file and save it to your desktop.

To run FileFind, please do the following:

  • Click on FileFind.exe
  • In the box labeled "Directory"
    • Enter Drive C:\

    [*]In the box labeled "File"

    • Enter w0a570b8.dll

[*]Now click on the "Search" button

[*]Once the utility has found the files click on "Export"

[*]A Notepad will open up. Please copy the entire contents of the Notepad and paste them here.

[*]NOTE: The notepad is saved on your C:\ drive as "Export.txt"

Please post the results from the findfile report. Once again, do not shut down or reboot your computer.

Congrats! Your log is clean!

How is your system running?

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.

  1. Firefox- Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera is good as well.
  2. Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  3. AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  4. SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep malware from installing on your system.
  5. SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  6. IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  7. ATF Cleaner - Cleans temporary files from web browsers, and much more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  8. Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  9. Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.

To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein and this guide on safer computing.
