jasonlh
I have Everest Home Edition 2.2 and am wondering what some numbers mean in storage>SMART. There are columns headed Threshold, Value, Worst, and Data. There are no units of measurement so I don't really know what I'm looking at. I am particularly interested in the C2 Temperature since I just replaced the original 20GB 4200 RPM hard drive with a 60GB 5400 RPM drive and I want to make sure the drive doesn't cook. I couldn't find an explanation in the Lavalys forums so I'm hoping someone here knows how to read this data.
TheTerrorist_75
As long as everything is passing or normal do not be concerned. All that you see at the top in the SMART section of Everest can only be understood by the manufacturer. All of them have different attributes for their drives. If you see anything marked bad/failing or you receive an error through SMART be ready to replace the drive.http://www.santools.com/smart/unix/manual/...tributeview.htm Edited March 18, 2006 by TheTerrorist_75
