my IBM 1Ghz pc is not showing the HD I tried to install Ubuntu and it said it was there but when I reset the PC it says PXE-E61 "Media Test Failure, check cable" So I'm think that that means the HD, cause the Ubuntu install went perfect its just the Bios I think not recognizing the HD, I cant even press del or F8 wont do anything.

What do you think?

PXE is the firmware network boot facility. The E61 error is produced by the network card.

The most probable explanation is that the BIOS can't find any bootable devices and is falling through to the network boot. If that's the case you can either boot off a Linux live CD (the Ubuntu install disc, maybe) and use fdisk to set a bootable partition or you can reinstall.

It's also possible that HDD failed or the BIOS is FUBARed.

FUBAR"ed"

F'ed Up Beyond All Reason "ed"

Just messing around

That was the generalized 'FUBAR': tenseless and both nouned and verbed. The increased expressiveness is worth the incompatibility.
