Matt
Welcome to Besttechie! Please print out these directions for use if/when you cannot access this page. One thing I need you to do first is to place HiJackThis into a permanent folder. The reason for this is so that when HJT makes backups, they will be stored in a safe place. *Go to Start > My Computer > and double click on C:.* Now right click an open area and click New > folder and change the folder name to HJT.* Extract HijackThis from the zipped file into this new folder.Scan with HJT and place a check next to the following items:R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.comR1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...rch/search.htmlO2 - BHO: (no name) - {77701e16-9bfe-4b63-a5b4-7bd156758a37} - (no file)O2 - BHO: My Web Search Bar BHO - {8EAB99C1-F9EC-4b64-A4BA-D9BCAE8779C2} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearchWB\bar\1.bin\W6BAR.DLLO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MPlay64] c:\program files\common files\system\mplay64.exe /noerrorinfoO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ms2src] c:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exe /installO9 - Extra button: StarLuck.com - {2B6AA6C9-1646-46e7-8D23-D54274F2F2F2} - C:\Program Files\Starluck Casino\bin\IEExtension_SL.dllO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: StarLuck.com - {2B6AA6C9-1646-46e7-8D23-D54274F2F2F2} - C:\Program Files\Starluck Casino\bin\IEExtension_SL.dllO9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exeO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exeO16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} (cpbrkpie Control) - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/4056/ftp...02/cpbrkpie.cabThen make sure all browser windows and other applications are closed, and click the Fix Checked button.Boot into Safe Mode:Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Once in safe mode, find and delete the following files:c:\program files\common files\system\mplay64.exec:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exeThen, find and delete the following folders:C:\Program Files\MyWebSearchWB\C:\Program Files\Starluck Casino\C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\Then, reboot your computer normally, and post a new HJT log. Matt
Congrats! Your log is clean! How is your system running? The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.Firefox- Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera is good as well.Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep malware from installing on your system.SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.ATF Cleaner - Cleans temporary files from web browsers, and much more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows. To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein
