BitBangerUSA
what have you done to try to get into the bios?most systems put up a text message about what key to hit during the pre-windows boot process.perhaps your bios is password protected, in which case, you will need to clear the cmos settings by either using the bios reset jumper or pulling the cmos battery for about twenty minutes.all you described about using PM 8 and then lack of booting from hard drive is normal. you will need to set the bios to boot from the cd so you can run the XP install. Mr Twain
I usually set up my bios to boot floppy 1st, cd 2nd and hdd 3rd. It may take a few seconds longer to boot up but its worth knowing you can use any of your devicess to boot without messing with your bios.

JSKY
Set your BIOs to boot off the CDROM as first boot device. (keep looking in your BIOs for boot order). Then go here and the center column will help you with the install (half way down tells different ways to do an upgrade)XP Install/Upgrade
X-Cannon
YES, I got it fixed all I had to do was make my Master Slave disabled so it would detect my CDrom THX to BitBangerUSA, Mr Twain, and JSKY for replying.
