Water's always been the first thing to try.

Dampen (not soak) a lint-free soft cloth and wipe away.

yep, a "dampend" towel will do. i never,ever use any type of commercial cleaners on ANY monitor, not even my Hitachi tv's.............!!!!

As said above, warm moist cloth...and you can use a soft soap if you wish. No harsh cleaners and nothing with abrasives...ever.

I find a little regular hand soap suds (Dove) works very well to remove any greasy film and smoke residues, but rub gently.
