I see where you have the image on photobucket.

To prevent photobucket from downloading the same distorted one, you have to rename the new image #2.

See if that works for you!!

Have you checked your display settings?

Start=>Control Panel=>Classic View=>Display=>Settings=>Color Quality

I vaguely remember changing it from 32 bit to 16 bit and all of the icons that were on my desktop changed the way your Firefox icon seems to have changed.

The current version is 1.0PR (Preview Release). The final release of 1.0 is due out Oct 11th. Just checked the roadmap and it looks like they are still on target with that release date. It's only 4 days away, so it might be worth waiting for, but that is entirely up to each person.
