This module provides protection against known Internet worms/attacks. It analyzes all network traffic and scans for malicious content. It can be viewed as a lightweight firewall (or, more precisely, an IDS (Intrusion Detection System)).The Network Shield is only available on NT-based systems (Windows NT/2000/XP/2003).This line "one of my computers" makes me feel that it is a good feature to keep enabled. It will protect you if one of your other computers gets infected with a network enabled virus or worm.
