ampshock
I have a P5AD2-E Premium motherboard I was wondering if the optical port was able to do optical out and in.
Vile_DR
It seems the the optical port is only for output usage on the MB. It makes mention of the stereo surround sound...and most receiver units only support input from an optical source. S/PDIF-out on Back I/O PortThis motherboard provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems via an optical or coaxial S/PDIF-out (SONY-PHILIPS Digital Interface) jack. It allows to transfer digital audio without converting to analog format and keeps the best signal quality. Edited September 23, 2005 by Vile_DR
Mx²
From the description, it sounds like it's only capable of doing 'out'.
