I heard something about Cuba offering help, also. I just hope this country doesn't let its pride get in the way and accepts the offers of help!!!

It feels good to see that,after all we've done for others,that the aid is flowing the other way. I see that even some of the tsunami countries are doing what they can.

I read somewhere that Sri-lanka was donating $25,000. This touched me more because they probably can't afford it, but are willing to give.

It's not how much, it is that you do it, with what you can afford. It is nice to see that other countries are donating. This is the way it should be. Helping each other, no matter who you are or where you come from.

It just breaks my heart to see them rescue people and leave the animals behind. I understand the reasoning, but keep seeing that little wet dog standing in the water as the boat left him behind. I hope they eventually can go and save them.

Thanks for the link. I can understand in another time if the U.S. politely declined outside aid, but with all we have on our plate today I was heartened to see how we're handling the offers.
