Pete_C Posted March 12, 2013 Report Share Posted March 12, 2013 Avast 8 (free for home use) is out.If you have avast, go to the user interface => maintenance => program updateand get it.It now includes a software updater which is similar to the Secunia PSI. It scans your computer for programs with known security holes and checks for updates and patches.Some it will automatically prompt you to get the update.Some you have to open the new (improved interface) select software updates and click "fix now" and it will either automatically update / patch or will bring you to the download site for the latest version.Many nice improvements in the user interface, overall product seems improved, even though it was already a great product they managed to make it better.
