shanenin
I pulled ram out of a hot laptop today. I thought it was shut down. It still posts, hope I did not fry anything :-)edit added later//the funny thing is, I normally pull the battery and unplug it before doing anything like that. Somedays I just get lazy. That would have been an expensive mistake.

DigitalMan
Yeah I know the feeling. I was so excited to get my computer transfered over to a new case that I plugged the wrong 4-pin cable from the power supply into the motherboard and *poof*: fried everything. Pete_C
Yep, the dangers of home building and home repair is that you are your own insurer, warranty service , and tech support. It is all to easy to become lax and do something you know you should not do.If it goes well you say "Wow, I sure lucked out that time" if you notice it at all; if it goes bad you spend the next few days mulling it over and saying "God was I stupid; I know better than that. How could I overlook something so obvious."Bottom line is it happens to us all eventually and all you can do is hope you learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them.
