bar5
Heeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllpppppppppppppp!!!!I've D/L xpsp3 awhile back, now want to slipstream it. I've done it before, but can't find where the sp3.exe file is. I've looked everywhere: windows, 1386, service pack folder and some others. I've looked in so many places I forgot where. Could someone give me the path to find it? C:\?????ThanksBarb
shanenin
I don't think it is saved as that file anymore. After it is downloaded, i would guess it is extracted then the original is deleted. You will probably have to redownload it.
TheTerrorist_75
If you downloaded the stand alone file for slipstreaming look for WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe in your download folder.
bar5
I went to windows update, and D/L and install. I don't mind D/L again, as finally I got hi-speed internet. Should I just save it to desk top or make a folder name it "xpsp3" and put it there, or name it something else? What do you think? Thanks for info so far.Barb
Falcon1986
Here is where you can download the full SP3 installer. Downloading SP3 through Windows Update does not give you easy access to the installer and, furthermore, most slipstreaming tutorials will ask that you download the full installer. You can store it wherever you want. Renaming does not interfere with the installer's ability to work. Whatever suits you.

TheTerrorist_75
Download the stand alone version Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers to a folder named XPSP3 or similar.
