Gerry
Hi Folks!I am having problems with ZoneAlarm (Free) and would like to uninstallthis from my PC.I have checked out the instructions on how to go about this on the websiteof Don Hoover but I am not sure how to do the following step : If you are running a version other than the free version then backup your settings in ZA using the backup button. This will create a XML file with all your settings stored in it, remember where you placed that file, you may need it later. If you are running the free version then turn off ZoneAlarm and rename the folder named "internet logs" to oldlogs. What I would like to know is:1. Exactly where and how do I find the folder named "Internet logs"?2. When I go to Start, Files and Folders I do get Internet Logs, but I can not see how to change this. There is nowhere to enter "Old logs". How do I do this?3. Is this step really necessary?Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.Gerry
garmanma
After you locate the folder, you should be able to right-click on the folder with your mouse and there should be an option to rename the folderMark
Gerry
After you locate the folder, you should be able to right-click on the folder with your mouse and there should be an option to rename the folderMark===============================================================Hello MarkI have tried to follow your advice but am still unable to rename thefolder "Internet logs", the reason being that nothing happens whenI right-click on it. (Please note that I am using Win98SE on this PC).To get to there I follow the following steps:Start, Find, Files or Folders. After I entered "Internet logs" a list ofonly eight files come up, none of which are related to ZA. Now I amnot sure where to right-click to change the name. Please advise. My next question involves the Windows temp folder. I have copiedhereunder the instructions as outlined on Don Hooper's website: "Go to your windows temp folder and delete everything. The temp file I am talking about depends on your version of windows. It is the folder that things get unzipped to when you are installing them. For windows XP the location is C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Temp"My question: Where do I find this on Win98?The steps thereafter seems to be pretty easy.Mark, I hope that you will find the time to reply to my "silly" questions. I am just trying toavoid the problems that I've had a few years back when I also tried to uninstall ZA, only tomake a booboo of it ...Thanks.Gerry

Gerry
Try this link: Uninstall ZA==============================================================Hi Folks! The uninstall instructions on the ZoneAlarm site is quite clear butI still have one concern to resolve before I can undertake the uninstallprocedure. This relates to the deletion of the "Internet Logs" file. What I amconcerned about is that there are many files of other programs in thisfile as well, not only those of ZA. I would like to know if all of these could safely be deleted without anyserious consequences afterwards? If not, what would be the bestroute to follow?Advice on this will be sincerely appreciated.Thanks.Gerry
TheTerrorist_75
Deleting .log files will not hurt anything. They will be recreated by programs that are still functional.
